Resist, Rebuild, Restore (Strategy Overview)

Grassfire.org has launched this “Join The Resistance” campaign to give grassroots conservatives a place to join together around the common goal of holding off as much of the Obama agenda as possible. Our goal is to bring together hundreds of thousands of resisters this year. When combined with similar efforts from the tea party movement, Glenn Beck's 9-12 effort and others, together we can mount a successful, patriotic, idea-based resistance.

Web-Based Resistance
The key will be providing web-based structures that truly equip conservatives to Resist. Step #1 is the Join the Resistance Petition. This platform is the foundation for everything else we will do. A million-strong email network provides us with the ability to respond immediately to each and every effort by the Obama administration to undermine our liberties. If you have not yet signed the petition, please do so now.

ResistNet adds to this foundation a platform for social networking that will connect Resisters to others in their communities. Our goal is to give concerned citizens both a forum for ideas and a practical way to get involved. Ideally, anyone who is willing to invest their time in advancing this patriotic, idea-based resistance to this new wave of socialism would be able to contribute through ResistNet in two key areas: providing solid, idea-based content and helping to organize locally through our State Groups.

We are also exploring ways to put the tools of the Resistance into your hands through mobile phone-based apps that allow you to Resist on the go. We will use fax, email, phone, and personal visit campaigns to press our case with leaders in Washington, D.C., who need to know that millions oppose Obama’s rush to the Left. Many have asked us to provide branded resources such as hats and t-shirts to help spread the “Join the Resistance” movement. We will add resources and tools based on need, practicality, feasibility and cost.

Resist, Rebuild, Restore
Resisting is just the first step. That is why we propose a three-phased recovery for conservatives: Resist, Rebuild, and Restore. We believe that resisting will create newfound unity among conservatives. Out of this, we must then Rebuild our structures. New, invigorating models must be developed that inform, equip and bring together conservatives and prepare us to return our ideas to political prominence. Again, the Internet will be a key battleground. The Left has moved far ahead in its embrace of and usage of new 2.0 technologies. The Rebuild process will leave Americans with a clear ideological and practical choice between the Left’s statist model and our model based on God-given individual liberties.

Having rebuilt, we can then Restore conservative ideals to leadership by winning elections. Ultimately, a movement’s ideas must result in electoral victories because that is the basis for legitimate authority and ultimately for implementing one’s ideas.

Resist. Rebuild. Restore. It’s not an easy path for grassroots conservatives, but it is a clear path. We know what we must do. And it begins with resisting rightly —respecting the new President but never backing away from the God-given ideals of freedom and liberty upon which this nation was founded.

Well... George W. Bush freed more ingrates than Lincoln (proving the axiom 'no good deed goes unpunished') and if the lefties were consistent they'd be nominating "W" for the Nobel Peace prize.
If we're going to change anything, it’s going to be dirty work from the bottom up.
Every conservative needs to start by registering everyone of voting age in their household to vote. Hubby or wife says “I’m to busy to vote” or “I wouldn’t know who to vote for.” I just say, “Well, listen, honey… I can help you with that.” Junior or sis not registered? “If you want to inherit a dime someday, you need to register to vote, and I can help you understand what candidates and what bills are in the best interest of you and your family.”
Then we need to go toe-to-to with commie groups like Acorn in registering normal people to vote – yes, I understand they own the meth-tweakers, intersection panhandlers, coke-head transvestites, female of breeding age, and the trial lawyers, but that still leaves a large swath of America that bathes regularly.
Money – we need to apply for our fair share o the $4 BILLION Obimbo has set aside for ACORN.
The only reason I joined this group was the resistance aspect. If we are going to be a debate club about the US Constitution, hell yes, I'm for that document, but there's also the USS Constitution tied-up in port of Mystic, CT that is proof that freedom-loving people can resist in a whole other way! Viva la Resistance!

We may have to wait until 2010, so we can elect a conservative conggess, I just hope we can last that long. The birth certificate issue must be resolved!

Even the Supreme Court has to comply with Constitutional law. Phoney interpretations of the constitution, are something we as a people cannot stand for. Our only security depends on the document, not on the whim of an empty suit who will say anything to get by. It is the only cure for the sickness of political correctness, that is so prevelent in our society today. We need to put the 10 commandments back into the court houses of America and God back into our schools.

You guys who are concerned with Education/ on Team Sarah theres a group called Education Conservatives can you come there, join Team Sarah which is a great group, and join the Ed group. I am on it. I am a TEACHER and an artist and I am trying to get people to compile lists of texts and curricula that are WRONG. This book reference beleongs there, and you could add more.

Comment by jOHN mARION on January 26, 2009 at 7:34pm: It seems to me that we conservatives MUST follow the lead of St. Patrick and respectfully & personally engage democrats in friendly chat and civilly explain what conservatism is, what it ain't, and why we hold that philosophy and world view to be, reasonably and histroically, the only healthy way to go. LISTEN , patiently & attentively, to their views, no matter how absurd. Never, ever Talk Down to these intelligent but FUBARed souls in need of, well, true Deliverance. Stifle our massive self-righteousness and know-it-all-snobbery and teach Obamaniacs through conversation. Find out where they are really coming from. Ask them, ASK rather than demand, exactly why they think it's a good thing to deny medical treatment to infants who survive abortion atempts, why abortion is a good thing, and why they think that declining, diving birth-fertility fertility rates among white folks is a good thing while those rates are soaring among illegal (Latinio) aliens, Black folks, and Muslims. I've been able to have great conversations with a few Obama-Libs in a local pub. Easy does it, but we do converse, argue certain points, but always in respect and without heat. o they come 'round? Na, but they listen. St. Paddy converted Ireland Druids & Pagans f' goodness sake, by listening, teaching, and, o.k., a few miracles. Result? No Christian Martyrs in Ireland. My thoughts here, however flawed.

I am really upset with the way this country seems to be going. I don't want my grandkids to have to pay back a debt that this government is handing out this year. I don't think our representatives nationally, or locally listen to the people they are suppose to represent and I hate what is being done to our history, now. The children are not being taught the truth about the beginning of our country and in generations to come, can you imagine the garbage that the left will be feeding our children about our nation? I beleive in the Constitution and what our forefathers were trying to do and am sick at the direction this beautiful country in envolved in. What can we do?

There's alot of really smart cookies on here that know their stuff!! If God is with us who can be against us? This country was founded on principals and what is good and right, fair and Just. The only ones who stopped caring about that are the ones who don't deserve to be in authority, public service, THEY ARE THE TERRORISTS!
