Resist, Rebuild, Restore (Strategy Overview)

Grassfire.org has launched this “Join The Resistance” campaign to give grassroots conservatives a place to join together around the common goal of holding off as much of the Obama agenda as possible. Our goal is to bring together hundreds of thousands of resisters this year. When combined with similar efforts from the tea party movement, Glenn Beck's 9-12 effort and others, together we can mount a successful, patriotic, idea-based resistance.

Web-Based Resistance
The key will be providing web-based structures that truly equip conservatives to Resist. Step #1 is the Join the Resistance Petition. This platform is the foundation for everything else we will do. A million-strong email network provides us with the ability to respond immediately to each and every effort by the Obama administration to undermine our liberties. If you have not yet signed the petition, please do so now.

ResistNet adds to this foundation a platform for social networking that will connect Resisters to others in their communities. Our goal is to give concerned citizens both a forum for ideas and a practical way to get involved. Ideally, anyone who is willing to invest their time in advancing this patriotic, idea-based resistance to this new wave of socialism would be able to contribute through ResistNet in two key areas: providing solid, idea-based content and helping to organize locally through our State Groups.

We are also exploring ways to put the tools of the Resistance into your hands through mobile phone-based apps that allow you to Resist on the go. We will use fax, email, phone, and personal visit campaigns to press our case with leaders in Washington, D.C., who need to know that millions oppose Obama’s rush to the Left. Many have asked us to provide branded resources such as hats and t-shirts to help spread the “Join the Resistance” movement. We will add resources and tools based on need, practicality, feasibility and cost.

Resist, Rebuild, Restore
Resisting is just the first step. That is why we propose a three-phased recovery for conservatives: Resist, Rebuild, and Restore. We believe that resisting will create newfound unity among conservatives. Out of this, we must then Rebuild our structures. New, invigorating models must be developed that inform, equip and bring together conservatives and prepare us to return our ideas to political prominence. Again, the Internet will be a key battleground. The Left has moved far ahead in its embrace of and usage of new 2.0 technologies. The Rebuild process will leave Americans with a clear ideological and practical choice between the Left’s statist model and our model based on God-given individual liberties.

Having rebuilt, we can then Restore conservative ideals to leadership by winning elections. Ultimately, a movement’s ideas must result in electoral victories because that is the basis for legitimate authority and ultimately for implementing one’s ideas.

Resist. Rebuild. Restore. It’s not an easy path for grassroots conservatives, but it is a clear path. We know what we must do. And it begins with resisting rightly —respecting the new President but never backing away from the God-given ideals of freedom and liberty upon which this nation was founded.

My name is Iris Whitney. What I am suggesting is for all our groups to join in as one voice and bomb-bard our government in how 'we the people' are thinking, and how we reject losing our freedoms. If you are sick and tired of feeling there's no one listening, is there someone who would be interested in what I'm suggesting? There's the T.E.A. Party's, the Resist group as well as the 9/12 group.There are others I'm sure.It would be impossible to all get together, except maybe the D C March in Sept. I would be glad to aid in collecting emails or addresses to send as a group to our government on all protests. Comment by joel carson on April 27, 2009 at 11:43am: oh'bummer is trying to turn our military against us preparing them for enforcing martial law.He's pushing us closer to the day the bloodshed will start.Lets not do anything stupid that would give him reason to put his military in place before the military enlisted and their leaders recognize the problem is not economics its the loss of the bill of rights and constitutional law that he and his cabinet and legislative branch violate every day.We don't want the military preparing to assist him in his oppression until they understand the proble and we have established our communications networks and strategy and we're ready.

Comment by joel carson on April 27, 2009 at 11:28am: Respecting the office is one thing,respecting the holder of the office is a horse of a different color.The man is a thief by virtue of the fact that he was paid by the people of Illinois to represent them typical of many politicians he did not .He voted present that's not representation that's stealing the peoples money.He never done an honest days work at anything in his life.I could've taught any one of my kids at home from my copies of the constitution and the reasons they had to love and appreciate it in three months time what he spent all kinds of money and years to learn for the purpose of defeating and destroying it.I'm sorry there's no way in hell I will ever give respect to such a person with no character,morals or a righteous core.Don't ever try to tell me that he's accepted Jesus and believes in the true God. It is so obvious that the man who thinks he's the messiah and would be king is nothing but a painted and polished turd.

At least with Bush I felt he cared...but in his last days and the beginning of the bailout proved different. Well, at least those two border guards are out.

Shamefully disgraceful to be succinct about it. A classic oxymoron laid out for an organization I've supported before there was a resistnet.com . Grassfire.org is the work of Steve Elliott and I hope this is NOT the hand of Steve Elliott who penned this post parenthetically noted as a "strategy overview". Timing is everything in life has been an accepted axiom over the years. It doth seem ironically coincidental that this qualification of direction should take place so soon after the revelation of some report on right-wing activists and the potential for terrorism problems they present. We are asked to be respectful of this President who is so greatly concerned about "domestic" terrorism by those who disagree with him, but who..., like his hypocritical predecessor, is not so concerned about terrorism from without that he would issue an Executive Order to close our borders YESTERDAY! His concern about the global War on Terror was such that he downgraded it to the depreciative value of an Overseas Contingency Operation. Nobody paid much attention to the word "contingency", but I damned well did. There is nothing "contingent" about the War On Terror. If terrorism or terrorist or terror makes you choke in the mere pronunciation or brown your bloomers you are not the one we require as commander-in-chief, but since you were elected we're stuck with you.

N-O-B-O-D-Y is going to tell me that I have to respect this sorry human refuse of an excuse for a man who happens to be President. My respect is for the Office of the President and he dishonors that office every day. I, for one, shall continue to shout my disdain and revulsion for this President every day until he is gone. After he's gone I shall continue to remind others of the nightmare of Obama that once was and may return again in another persona should we be derelict in our devotion as patriots to protect and defend that government of the people, by the people and for the people.

If this mood of political correctness I read here cannot endure elocution of the truth issue me my banishment edict now.

We are engaged in the intellectual equivalent of mortal combat with those who are seeking to virtually end this constitutional republic as history and we knew it. They have demonstrated themselves to be intolerant of any opinion that differs from theirs; of being dismissive and disrespectful of traditional American values. This President has set us on a course of collective debt that staggers the imagination and blithely goes about his day strutting arrogantly and pompously about. When, on rare occasions, a meber of the media queries him about subject matter he finds ill-timed and perhaps embarrasing he gives the questier short-shrift and manifests an unmistakable annoyance. Such is the persona of this 'servant of the people'. I give him not one scintilla of respect and would spit in his eye given the chance.

Thanks for the good news from our black patriots citizens. Thanks to God he is answering our prayers, if we bind together, the victory needed will be accomplished. God promised the wicked ones will be left in shame, so it will be. Together in prayers and fasting we can move mountains , battles, war, pain, sickness, etc. will be easier to win. Let us agree in prayer for Gods Supreme Justice be done and those arrogant and hungry for power, who wants to make His people slaves and to control their lives, be rewarded with the punishment deserved for disobeying His commandments and abuse of their power in government position.

Do you think they are going to let us change the game they are used to playing just by being passive about our agenda? This is war and they are not joking. Look at the mess we are in.
