With a little less than two days notice, 30 Patriots in Salinas, and 42 in Monterey responded to a rally call to protest President Obamas sanctioning of the use of "reconciliation" or nuclear option to force his extremely unpopular Health Care down America's throat.
I heard comments about the size of our rapid response "minuteman" turnout.
This fine group jumped into public view so fast, we were actually a part of the nation backlash in real time.
Salinas drivers were rockin' like I've never seen, and Monterey drivers got the hammer pulled down so fast on the already angry, that their eyes were bulging out and their mouths resembled something getting mixed in a blender.
Small group, yes, but we had a mighty impact on the citizens that drove by us today. The press sprang into action about as fast as we did. Mark Carbanoro 1460 did a live broadcast, KION TV showed up (5:00 o'clock news link below), and yes, finally we are important enough now for the local liberal rag "The Weekly" to send two very uncomfortable and often rude and pushy employees without press identification to get a story by their deadline.
Our impact was so gripping to one concerned citizen who drove by our Monterey Patriots, that he circled around, parked his car, got out and joined us on the curb. He said he couldn't stand it anymore...he just had to do something.
So would it have been nice to have 1000 people show up? Sure, but it only took a few of us to tap into the uproar in our communities that President Obama started less than 48 hours earlier.
