Thank you for bringing your concerns regarding the upcoming international talks on climate change in Copenhagen, Denmark to my attention. I appreciate the time you took to contact my office on this important issue and welcome the opportunity to respond.
is to secure international cooperation and agreement to curb the emission of greenhouse gases. With the Kyoto Protocol expiring in 2012, many commentators believe that the Copenhagen meeting may result in the attendees signing an international agreement related to stoppiAs you know, the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change is scheduled to meet in Copenhagen December 7-18, 2009. The goal of this convention, which President Obama is expected to attend,ng or reversing climate change by way of an international treaty.
I have heard from a number of people who, like, you are concerned that President Obama would "sign away American sovereignty" should he enter into this agreement. While I agree that these claims are deeply troubling, I want to assure you that they are not factually based. There are plenty of grounds to disagree with the Obama Administration, so we don't need to inflate rumors. This only damages our credibility.
First, at this point, there is no treaty for the Copenhagen attendees to sign. In fact, the Dutch diplomat who is overseeing the Convention, Yvo De Boer, said "there isn't sufficient time to get the whole thing done." Instead, the goal for the December summit is to create "the groundwork for a ratifiable agreement next year."
Moreover, even if the Copenhagen Convention does result in a treaty and President Obama does sign onto that agreement, this action alone does not commit the United States to the treaty's provisions. Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution states that the president may only enter into treaties "provided that two thirds of the Senators present concur." This means that once the president signs a treaty, it is not binding on the United States until a supermajority of 67 Senators consent to its ratification. For example, the United States signed the Kyoto Protocol on climate change in 1997. However, Kyoto is not binding on the United States because it could not pass the Senate threshold for ratification.
Many Democrats both in the White House and in Congress have said that the United States ought to sign the Cap and Trade bill that has already passed the House into law before the President goes to Copenhagen. I disagree. As you may know, I opposed this bill, H.R. 2454 the American Clean Energy and Security Act when it unfortunately passed the House of Representatives earlier this year. Although this legislation is billed as a Cap and Trade system, it should really be called "cap and tax."
During his campaign, President Obama promised to not raise taxes for 95% of Americans. However, by the Obama administration's own recently released estimates, a cap and trade program will cost the average American household an extra $1,761 in new taxes each year. As always, actions speak louder than words. Hiding taxes by using language like Cap and Trade is misleading and not what the American people had in mind. H.R. 2454 implements a regressive tax at a time when Americans from all walks of life are suffering.

Ask Before He Receives
President Must Fulfill Constitutional Obligation Before He Accepts Nobel Peace Prize
Washington D.C. – U.S. Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (FL-05) released the following statement after sending a letter to President Obama:
“I congratulate President Obama on receiving this distinguished honor. This award is a testament to America’s continuing importance as a broker of peace and a promoter of democracy. With every great honor, however, comes great responsibility, not the least of which is the President’s constitutional responsibility to receive the consent of Congress before formally accepting this award.
“‘Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution clearly states: “no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state
Maybe he is receiving stimulus money to go onto sites like this and attempt to defeat the Patriots. Won't work. At this stage of the game there isn't enough stimulus money to silence the Conservatives and stifle our agenda to take our country back. I say ignore the mentally and morally ill little fellow. He will have to come face to face with Jesus some day and Jesus doesn't take bribes and He isn't a communist. Have a great day!
The socialists have an agenda described by the ten aims and expectations cited in the Communist Manifesto (c.1848). Conservatives have never had an agenda, and that's one of the many reasons I wrote "A Capitalist Manifesto". The conservative agenda is offered in the form of a set of four corrective actions, contained in Ch6, and which I have previously posted to Resistnet. There is no one, other than me, on the horizon of the conservative landscape who offers a set of non-violent corrective actions that conservatives can get behind to curb if not destroy the creeping rot of inflation and socialism in the United States. If you or anyone else in the country are aware of someone, other than me, who has non-violent set of law-making corrections that can be taken to stop a Marxist-socialist take-over of the United States, identify that someone for me. If you like what you read, you can help the conservative cause by telling others. Also, my book with the "look inside" feature is available at Amazon.com. (It's also available through online booksellers in both Europe and Asia.)

GO BOLTS!
I'm glad to see you made it over from Fire Society. I've joined the California Patriots group to join with other Californians who want to focus on how we can resist here in California.
We'd love it if you were to join us.
Thanks, Jim
