Anyway, I have been in regular contact with James (Jim) Boy who has provided some on-the-scene reports from the 9-12 event in DC.
(From what I saw, they had an incredible turnout and far better weather there than we did here for the "Hands Off Texas" rally last Saturday afternoon at the Capitol.)
FYI, here is an excerpt of my message to Jim:
As I mentioned in my last e-mail, I had my "Hey, Democrats, Don't Mess with Texas Success" poster and was prepared to hold it high during a rally at the Capitol last Saturday. When I left my home in North Austin, it was sprinkling rain and I drove downtown and parked where I would have been able to see the "Hands Off Texas" demonstration...IF a monsoon of biblical proportions had not struck and dumped about 3 inches of rain on the place in a very short time. I'd guess that at least 30 or so brave souls in heavy rain gear and holding umbrellas braved the torrent, but without either, I chose not to risk pneumonia just to display a sign that only "the choir" could see...maybe...if they were close enough. I'll save my poster for the next one. It will still be quite applicable.
Only the Fox News Network covered the DC event to any extent, while the the other networks just downplayed it...and seriously underestimated the size of the crowd and its collective enthusiasm and vigorous protest against the imposition of ObamaCare. Meanwhile the President had left town, for Minnesota, I think, so he wouldn't have to even acknowledge the protesters, address their legitimate grivances to the press, or actually face others who might "call HIM out" for HIS lies about "his" healthcare plan...and then cite section and page number to refute his statements.
I sure wish Joe Wilson had just stood and said, "Point of Order, Mr. President," and provided the bill citation reference. (Then, the press would have been forced to actually look it up and report the contradiction...rather than just villify his action.) Without a doubt, Rep. Wilson was impolite to interrupt what amounted to little more than a campaign speech in the well of the House, but his statement of "You lie!" was absolutely CORRECT!
Keep up the hard work, and tell every member of Congress to just "ABORT OBAMACARE!"

It helps with the younger folks who assisted in this state of the union, and bolstered my temper that I'm not alone in my anger and need to stay on top of the "Good News". God's peace be with you always, Cheryl
