The claim holds weight because, according to the very laboratory protocols that are routine for vaccine makers, mixing a live virus biological weapon with vaccine material by accident is virtually impossible.Unless I am reading the sentence wrong what makes the mixing "virtually impossible" is the protocol set. As we both know everyone follows protocol all the time. Even (especially) educated, degreed people fail to follow published procedures and that is all a protocol is in the final analysis. Just a set of procedures. As General MacArthur once said:
Rules were made to be broken and for the lazy to hide behind. My wife reviews the documentation (paperwork) for the QA lab of a major pharmacutical OEM and according to her the single largest source of error in the lab is failure to follow the method (i.e. procedures for the particular assay/assays for a given product). It requires no great leap of intellect to suspect that other people working in other labs might have similar problems staying with procedure/protocol. Plus add in Murphy's Law (BTW, there really was a Murphy) and the "virtually impossible" becomes all too possible. The spychological version of Murphy's law is "If there is a way to screw up somebody will find it."
The abundance of [instances of purported doom] does sort of indicate some gut feeling doesn't it?It just indicates a lot of people who have a vague feeling of disaster. It says nothing about whether there are/are not facts supporting those disasters. Think (or google if necessary) "lemmings".
How can a world economy be a good thing?A world economy is neither good nor bad - it just is. The world economy was no more engineered than any economy. Economies - local, regional, intra-national, trans-national, international, world - grow. They evolve because people naturally engage in trade. The frozen mummy found in the alps a few years ago had artifacts on him that indicated a wide trade net existed in Europe over 5 thousand years ago. There is evidence of thriving commerce in the Mediterranean area over 3 thousand years ago. If the goods were available in the Mediterranean area, I guarantee someone was shipping things to the British Isles. During the warm period around the time of Charlemagne the Roman wine merchants got the city dads to outlaw the sale of wines from GREAT BRITAIN. When the trade network is global then a world economy exists. Nobody has to create/engineer it. It just happens.
Please explain to us [snippage] whether we should worry about the "accidental" release of a bio hazardous mutation of avian bird flu to fourteen different countriesWhy do you believe that the avian flu outbreak was the result of a "release at all? Viruses mutate. While for the most part viruses that can effect one species do not have any effect on other species. In this case you have a virus that affects one CLASS of chordates - class Aves, i.e. birds - crossing over to a completely different class - mammals. But it happens. Different strains of swine flue happen every year. Have been happening since long before we humans acquired technology to modify viruses. For there to have been a "release", accidental or otherwise, there would need to exist some orgnization purposely creating viruses. The simple explanation would involve natural processes. No need to get into some sort of diabolical, machiavellian plot. Besides, what evidence have you seen to indicate the avian flu was the result of anything but natural processes?
why don't YOU lead the resistanceThe simple answer is that my skills and abilities are not in that area.
Are you doing what is necessary to survive? To the best of my ability I believe (notice I did not say "feel") that I am. I have a plan in place to hunker down when the storm comes. I have a place prepared to which to go to hunker down. I am stockpiling written material on how to grow certain crops, how to use naturally occuring substances for medicines, how to use existing resources of technology to maintain a post industrial revolution level of existance. I believe that when the storm appears on the horizon we will have some months in which to prepare. I am stockpiling containers in which to store bulk foods such as flour, cornmeal, rice, beans and such. I am also buying ammuntion and supplies/tools to manufacture my own ammo. I am researching more lethal ammunition than I presently possess/can purchase for use to defend kith-and-kin/hearth-and-home.
