Why I am protesting....
I am protesting the size government has become. Our Constitution only allows a certain amount of power and they have overstepped their bounds. They can do what they want, when they want, and to whomever they want and for no reason. Yet, they have no real transparency or oversight. Why not? It's about WE THE PEOPLE finally saying ENOUGH! I don't believe they should be able to accept money from various groups so they'll support their cause. It's wrong. You take away the rights of the people of a state when you allow national groups to influence votes. The states should have more power. A country truely ran by the people, would be controlled by the people. Ours is not. I just don't feel like my values and principles are felt in D.C. and I'm tired of it. If they would get back to the Constituion, a lot of things would take care of themselves.
I think the majority of Americans believe like we do. That America is the greatest country in the world and worth doing anything to preserve what our Forefathers intended. I believe we should work our butts off like they did 233 years ago. We should be on the phones, tv stations, newspapers, internet (of course), email, writing letters, marching on Washington until our voices are heard. We should research every bill we can and the politicians who voted for them. We must let them know we're watching every move and we vote! You're one of us (Americans) or one of them (career politicians out for their own interest). It doesn't matter if you're Democrat or Republican right now. We need to clean house. It's all about wasting our money for political gain. It must stop and it's our duty to stop it.
I want to lead on the community level because that's where it has to start. I plan on letting the people I vote for know what I stand for. I will research everything I can and educate as many people as I can about this movement. We are not alone. I believe our country is at a crossroad and I want my 2 sons (8) and (2) to know where his Daddy stood. I will do my part to make sure we're seen, heard, and felt.
