I am working on a new website for our group.
Also working with Kelly Townsend on combining our 912 group with the teaparty group. We are the only one in our area and it is easier for all of us just to come together.
We will be having a PC training on 18 of December. d

I would like to thank Sassia for getting us together, organized and taking effective action. For all the PC's and pending PC's that did not make it to yesterday's 11/21 Pinal County GOP PC meeting, About 50 of the 200 PC's showed up. Our group accounted for virtually all of the new PC's, 20% of the attendees and was the center of the energy in the room. Darla had a chance to speak and got things going. The county leaderships looks good to me, responsive and interested in getting as much help as they can. We have a great 9-12 group and good leadership working together so we can take effective action. This will work if we work at it!

Marty Hermanson, Pinal GOP Chair, called me back today and we discussed the 11/21 county PC meeting, GOP calender, email invotes, etc.

Marty did not know that Paul had not gotten the 11/21 PC meeting on the AZGOP website calendar or that emails had not gone out. We said he would call Paul as soon as we were done talking. Marty wants all those who applied to be Pinal PC's to be at the 11/21 meeting. He did not bring up the fact that the new PC's missed the 11/18 BOS agenda for approval and neither did I. I did not what him to change his invite to all the pending PC's.

The 11/21 meeting is now on the calendar at www.azgop.org. We can coordinate carpools at the 11/20 meeting. Details are below. I will have maps to the 11/21 meeting, PC applications, current PC list, etc. at our 11/20 meeting.

I was at an Arizona Tea Party meeting last night and spoke with a GOP precinct chair. She brought up the topic of the 2010 election of county and state leaders. For those considering to become a PC in Arizona, you have to be one by 12/31/09 to be eligable to vote in the 2010 election of county and state GOP leaders per the state bylaws. If you are considering to become an Arizona PC get your application in now to clear the deadline so you havea voice in party leadership! If you miss the deadline you can still become a PC but will not be able to vote on party leaders.

I contacted the clerk for Pinal Board of Supervisors yesterday. New GOP PC's DID NOT make 11/18 BOS agenda. Item was received too late and is on 12/9 agenda. So, all the pending PC's will not be appointed in time for the 11/21 Pinal GOP PC meeting. I got latest PC list from elections and there are number of changes. Info has been sent on to Sassia.

I talked last week to Marty Hermanson, Pinal GOP Chair, and Paul Messenger, Pinal GOP secretary, regarding new PC's. Marty swore it would make 11/18 BOS meeting. I also asked for the 11/21 meeting agenda, for emails on the meeting to go out and to place the meeting on AZ GOP and Pinal GOP websites. As of today they have done zip on any of it. I'm going to call Marty and go "fishing" for info and commitments and not tip to the fact that they missed the 11/18 BOS agenda.

I will update everyone at the 11/20 meeting and we can plan from there. I suggest you play dumb about the pending PC's if you call Marty. I plan on being there on 11/21.

I spoke with Marty Hermanson (Pinal GOP Chairman) and Paul Messenger (Pinal GOP Secretary) and have the latest on the PC situation. The process to become an appointed PC is:
1 - Apply to Marty.
2 - Marty approves and forwards to Pinal Couty Electrion
3 - Pinal County Elections confirm info and sends to County Supervisor
4 - Supervisors approve PC's at board meeting
5 - County notifies Marty of approval
6 - Marty approves and notifies County Elections
7 - County Elections sends out PC letter & documentation

Simple, right?

Why this is taking so long is there is only 1 person at County Elections that processes PC's and she has been out due to a death in the family. She is back now and the new PC's are on the agenda for the 11/18 supervisor's meeting. Marty's email has been out and he has not gotten our emails or been able to respond. He is working with Yahoo to get it fixed. I suggested he switch to gmail (bullet proof). Marty said he will contact Paul who sends out the email invites, agenda, etc. and make sure the new PC's get theirs. Marty was able to rattle off the names of many of the pending PC's. When I talked with Paul I passed on Marty's message and he said he would try to get them out in the next day or two as well as update the calendar on the state GOP website. They know the Pinal County GOP website has major problems and they need a new person to volunteer as webmaster (any takers?). These boys need help!

Some good news. Marty became county chairman in 2008. When he took over there were only 74 PC, only 20 of those could be counted on to help so the 2008 election was a bust. He got that up to 98 at the start of 2009 and they have been trying to get the numbers up. Once the new PC's get approved they will be up to 201. He mentioned that many of the new PC's are energetic and want to be involved. He knows it is going to take feet on the ground to win in 2010. So, we will see how things go. I will have maps, etc. with me at the Pinal County 9/12 meeting on 11/20 so we can make plans for the 11/21 Pinal County GOP PC meeting. marty mentioned that Dean Martin (AZ State Treasurer) will be speaking.

I will post this same info on the Pinal 9/12 site as well.

At tonight's Pinal 9/12 meeting I went over the PC project for the Pinal County GOP and found out that many of the people who had applied to be PC's had not received confirmation back from Marty Hermanson, Pinal County GOP chairman. I did get my notification and received an email that the next Pinal County PC meeting on 11/21 at 9AM at the Saddlebrooke HOOA 1 dining room, 645000 E Saddlebrooke Blvd, Tucson 85739. If you have not gotten your PC confirmation back or notification of the 11/21 meeting get a hold of Marty (480-440-4050, 520-494-7390, martyhermanson@yahoo.com ). The 11/21 meeting IS NOT on the calendars of either the Pinal County or AZ GOP websites. I don't know if the lack of communication is oversight, deliberate or just an indication of how poorly organized the Pinal GOP is. If you have signed up to be a Pinal GOP PC please get a hold of Marty, find out why you were not notified and be there for the 11/21 meeting!
