Well, there are 2 Republicans this time hoping to become Al Green's opponent. They are Dave Bannen and Mueller. I don't know anything about either or them, but that they would be a better choice than Al Green.

Be careful what you wish for, Robert. I am no fan of Mr. Green, but will support only a true conservative . . . RINOs need not apply. I would like to know more about Mr. Bannen and Mr. Muellar before I lend support. I will check and see if either of them share my conservative views. Fiscal sanity, strong defense, tax relief, and limited government.

Check Dave's web site and Steve's Facebook. And if you think replacing Al is a constructive step for the state of Texas, you can't do that by staying home because the candidates aren't conservative enough. It's an uphill battle to start out with, and the primary candidates are already on the ballot. Vote March 2 (or earlier) for the one that suits you best, but remember the goal, and go for it.

Also, remember Al's vote against defunding ACORN, even after it was repeatedly shown that they have a reckless disregard for the law. That was a losing vote, but it shows the left-wing "end-justifies-the-means" politics that Al Green seems to support. Everything is about getting re-elected. This vote was one which was farther left than the majority of his democrat colleagues.
