Tea Party Patriots October Surprise

It is reported that outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."


In the next few weeks, Tea Party Patriots will challenge you to keep our republic. It is going to take effort, energy, time, and commitment. Are you willing to step up to the challenge? If so, continue reading this newsletter to find out about our October Surprise. It is a multi-prong approach that involves protests, faxes, and visits to Congressional Offices both in DC and at local offices. The focus will be asking our Senators and Congressmen to vote NO on government takeover of health care and NO on Cap and Trade. We will especially focus on Senators and Congressmen who are on the fence about these bills. Read below to find out how you can get involved and help with this effort with step by step action ideas for each day.

In addition to the calls to action, we are pleased to announce Tea Party Patriots is supporting the movie premiere of Not Evil Just Wrong this Sunday night at 8:00 pm eastern. Since Tea Party Patriots has taken a stand against the Cap and Trade bill, this movie will go along educating Americans about the tax implications of Cap and Trade.

Finally, Tea Party Patriots has expanded our Board of Directors 11 people. The new members of the board are like you. They are grassroots members of the Tea Party Movement, care passionately about our country, and support our core values of fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally limited government, and free markets.

Please plan the protests in front of local district offices of the Senators in your state. We'd really love to see some offices (especially in Arkansas and Louisiana) have protests for the entire week at least during the business hours. We are focusing on Senators the week of October 19 because the Government Takeover of Health Care Bill is expected to go to the Senate Floor next week.

October Surprise

Last Thursday, in an emergency conference call, nearly 100 national and local Tea Party Patriot organizers around the country unanimously supported a recent proposal to hold new week long rallies in over 650 cities around the country. The rallies will target local and national offices of representatives and senators. Despise concerns expressed about overexposure and weather, all organizers agreed that we must do this to send a unified message; "We are still the silent majority and we will hold elected officials accountable for their votes". The October Surprise as it is being called will focus on health care legislation, cap and trade and the November elections. The October Surprise is intended to get the media saying, my god they're back, bigger than ever and where are they coming from?

Several approaches were proposed to the rallies which are going to target local offices for national elected officials. Some will hold drive by rallies and others will hold sign waving rallies. And in a ploy for media attention one proposal suggested Patriots camp out on the steps of our elected officials offices until the vote and encourage them to mark against nationalized health care. The idea is to work in shifts either via tent and 24/7 for the duration, or just show up during office hours for the whole day the entire week of Oct 19-23. This extended presence will demonstrate that we have the passion and give the local media easy access to American's who hold our viewpoint. It is intended to make the Tea Party message the primary viewpoint for local audiences as the vote nears.

Tea Party Patriots is a bottom up organization, thus events and dates are always controlled by the local organizers. Tea Party Patriots simply provides a unifying voice and theme. To maximize impact National organizers are asking that events be held beginning around October 17th, 2009 and last through October 25th, 2009 or until the final vote on nationalized health care is held.

Right now to the outside world it seems that the Tea Party movement has burnt out, but we are not. We are just average American's who go about our business living our normal lives, we are the silent majority. We follow national events on television and on the radio so keenly it would appear as if our very existence depends on it, and in very real ways we know that it does. But history has proven that we always step up when we are called. And as tired and frustrated as we are, like a weary soldier in battle we will pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and continue to fight and continue to BE HEARD. No one said this was going to be easy and we are prepared to continue the fight.

Along with the October Surprise rallies, many others ideas were proposed. One that was enthusiastically supported included citizen investigations into elected officials' campaign contributions using publicly available websites, public documents and any insider knowledge that can be found. The thought is that with over 30,000 willing volunteers and a subdued media, we can drum up better pictures of our elected officials and their motivations than we are currently getting from the press. The early list of elected officials includes both republicans and democrats who will have key votes on health care. A committee was formed to begin training Tea Party Patriot volunteers on how to use the internet to dig for information and how to share it. Bloggers across the country are standing by to analyze revelations of importance.

Not Evil Just Wrong

Fall is upon us and in some parts of the country they have received their first snow fall of the year, which begs to ask the question, "What happened with Global Warming?" Most already know about former Vice President Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth" and how it explored the issue of global warming. Most also know that Mr. Gore and his notables in the movie tried to use flawed science to get the point across.

Tea Party Patriots is proud to announce their welcomed promotion of the film "Not Evil Just Wrong". Ann McElhinney and Phelem McAleer, two Irish environmental journalists have a made a film that not only explores the "junk science' behind this debate but shows the real human toll extreme environmentalism has on society. If you do nothing else on the issue of Cap and Trade or Global Warming please see this film. It portrays real problems facing the world today and magnificently probes how some of these issues were actually created by extreme environmentalists own actions.

The producers are hoping to set the world record for most premiers of a single movie in one evening. It will be fun, educational and a real way to highlight the topic for all.

Tea Party Patriots Newly Expanded Board

From it's inception, the tea party movement has been truly a grassroots movement. Immediately after April 15th, The Tea Party Patriots were formed to continue to offer support and coordination of that movement. From day one, the TPP has been a movement of the people, for the people and by the people. As we move forward and begin to plan the organization's activities in the very important coming year, it is time to reach out and seek the proven leadership where it exists, in the grassroots all around the nation.

On October 5th we took a huge step forward by expanding the Board of Directors from three, to eleven dedicated tea partiers. The people involved come from all walks of life, and have a broad range of experience in the movement. They are people who have proved themselves on the ground, in the field, both in front of and behind the scenes. They are committed and dedicated to the tea party movement, and to the Tea Party Patriots as the "web" or the "glue" that binds the movement together and provides a unified national presence.

PriceWaterhouseCooper released an independent study of the Senate Finance Committee version of the government takeover of health care bill. The study showed that American family's budgets will be severely impacted by the bill and that health insurance premiums will increase dramatically. A group with a plan of action: Tax Day Tea Party 2010 Google, find, sign up for email alerts. They have a laid out weekly plan to follow. If We the People would implement the daily suggestions, we would have a massive force impacting the government.

Would you please give me the information I need to find this group on GoToMeeting?
Also, I totally agree with you: we need to get active. We could sit around griping about what's wrong until we run out of breath, but it won't move us forward!
Listening to Glenn Beck, visiting the 912 Project site, and certainly the Independence Caucus site are good ways to get going.
My husband and I are actively interviewing potential candidates for the 2010 election. Silent Majority we are not any more!

Some may already know Glenn Beck has put out a call to Senators and Congressmen to become re-founders. He is asking for those who know about corruption in Washington, and even those who might have been involved themselves, to step out and do the right thing by giving information which would led to the arrest, conviction and stopping of corruption in our government. Glenn has promised those who call him anonymity, physical protection, but has carefully explained they might have to pay for whatever part of illegal activities in which they have been involved.

My thought has been, wouldn't it be a wonderful thing, if We the People were to start a writing, emailing, calling campaign to not only our own Senators and Representatives, but all of them, encouraging them to be bold, step out and do what is right for their Nation and it's People.

The corruption needs to be stopped so our newly elected Senators and Representatives can get to the work of rebuilding our Republic!

I sent a message to all of the 13th District to join me on a GoToMeeting conference on Thursday at 7:00 PM. We need to get everyone more organized in the district to begin working on two things. First, we need to partner with Independence Caucus and learn what it takes to rid ourselves of the incumbent and then we need to vet the candidates to see who will be willing to serve our best interests.

Please join me for this conference, but remember that only the first 15 who log in will be part of the conference. If you didn't make it, then send me a message and we can set up another conference for those who didn't get in the first time.

Wesley,
If you are still in that Uniform, or even if you are not but did spend your time in it, I wish to personally thank you for all you have done. I too spent my "time" (20 years worth) in the military, I may not have been in "harms way" like you have had to face, but I did see some action that liberated (even if it was just for a little while) Panama. I was an Air Traffic Controller.

I will stand next to you to defend our right to liberty if it comes to that (I shot expert with the M-16. M-9, and 38 cal while I was in the service). Right now I need your help to do what we can to keep from getting into that fight that will dwarf what we went through 234 years ago. We need to get the incumbents out of office so that they can't continue to steal our future from us and buy their way back into office.

Everyone that is willing to work with me on this needs to start talking things up on this site and get everyone they know involved in this effort.

Short and to the point...

President Obama has just been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Our government is in 5th gear on outsourcing our middle class and implementing more and more government control on its citizens. We have turned into a cowardice country full of moral decay and ignorance. Since when did the government have the authority to buy General Motors? People are concerned about separation of Church and State, yet there is no separation between a free market economy and a closed market when our government has completely overstepped its bounds.
Where are the people who want to protect and defend our Constitution against all enemies DOMESTIC? Will we give in? Will we be controlled? United We Stand, Divided We Fall. To a point, I see this place as a venting forum for the government that forsakes its people.

Is it more important to help out immigrants than to concentrate on the unemployment of this country. President Obama has decided that it would be great to expedite citizenship to force the 12 million + undocumented workers in this country to pay taxes. An idea which is not too horrible, but what about those who live on unemployment funds that already are United States citizens? Seems to be a problem here. I believe if ICE was to raid our nation's meatpacking plants, we would dive into a depression and if we were able to get meat, it would be triple the current price. The fact is, some of the rich want this because they could outsource their companies and save on overhead cost, thus outsourcing middle class America.

I guess that wasn't too short. Just a vent. Who will stand with me when they come for our weapons? Who will stand up against tyranny, without fear of death? Socialism is not the answer for a country founded primarily for Liberty. Create a vast underclass, and the rest can fly their private jets to our government and ask for our tax dollars. The change will come and it will be uglier than it was 234 years ago.

While We Are Watching The Right Hand

I don’t know what would be the best way to approach this subject, but what if I were to tell you that in order for you to pay what you owe for all the benefits we get and what the government is spending right now without a health care overhaul, it would be $349,190.00. That is for all the citizens of the United States, all 300 million of us.

If you do the math, and figure out how much it would cost just the tax payers according, CNN Money.com that would be 156.3 million in 2008 instead of all 300 million of us, we would owe $670,230.33 per tax payer. Now I’m going to ask the real hard question, do you think that you can come up with that much money to fix the current financial situation of the U.S. government and balance the books? Even if we just balanced the budget, we have fiscal exposures totaling $107 trillion. Fiscal exposure is the total of all unfunded mandates, such as; Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Prescription Drug programs, and the interest on the national debt.

So while we are watching the right hand playing around with the national health care debate, and even contemplating adding to the fiscal exposure, the real problem is not being addressed or maybe it is being deliberately suppressed. This country is being bankrupted by those we have put into office over the past 50 years. It isn’t a party issue because both parties have been a “party” (no pun intended) to this systematic process. Ever since the Social Security “Trust Fund” was done away with and the funds it produced have been used to supplement the general fund, several similar programs have been initiated like Medicare, Medicaid, and most recently the Prescription Drug Assistance Program. Each of these is either under taxed or unfunded which means it is a drain on the Fiscal Budget of the United States each year. In other words, because these programs make up more than 61% of the budget each year, there is little left for National Defense or any other government purpose and we end up running deficits.

Here’s where the rubber meets the road. I’m 60 years old. I’m one of the “baby boomers”. I have paid into Social Security all of my adult life and Medicare ever since its inception. I can see the handwriting on the wall. If we want to bring this problem under control, the promises that have been made by politicians for so many years to get us to vote for them are going to have to be broken or we are going to cease to be the United States of America. Those who own our debt will mandate changes in our Constitution that will subjugate us to their will, i.e. socialism or even worse communism. We are headed for slavery of the worst kind because we aren’t willing to face up to the fact that if we don’t take the measures we need to take and keep from going bankrupt, we will be at the mercy of our international creditors (mainly China).

We need to bite the bullet and realize that politicians have duped us into thinking that “government” will take care of us in our old age when in reality they have just stolen the money from us and have used it to keep themselves in office instead of doing what is “for the best” of the country. We need to put individuals in office that can make the hard decisions on cutting these unfunded mandates or our fiscal exposure so that our posterity can live in a country that is still free. We need to say, “I will sacrifice so that my posterity can live in freedom.” Maybe if we do, they won’t ever make the same mistake that we have of relying on politicians to take care of us instead of being self-reliant.

I know that this won’t be a very popular paper, but if we are honest with ourselves and if we care for your children and grand children for generations, we will see that we are going to have to be the ones that sacrifice our retirements, free medical for the aged, and a national health care system for everyone just so our posterity can have freedom. In other words, we can’t have our cake and eat it too. May the Lord help us in making the tough decisions we are being forced to make now.

Do not go out alone...always be out in at least groups of 2. Do not ever encourage or incite things to the thugs to flame or bait them. If you ask for trouble you will get it!

Make sure your leaders or yourself put up a discussion in the state groups so people are aware.
