Clarification on Previous Email
There have been numerous questions about our previous email from earlier today regarding converging on the Capitol.

We had people calling and emailing over the last day and a half asking us to help organize an event in DC for the Cloture Vote. So, we did and Diana Reimer will be in DC. If you are going, please call Diana at: 267-446-7124.

There are a few important clarifications to note about this call to action:

* Who Should Go to DC? This is primarily intended for those who are within driving distance of DC and want to be there tomorrow when the Senate votes in the cover of darkness on cloture. Again, if you are going, please contact Diana Reimer at: 267-446-7124.
* What If You Cannot Go to DC? If you are not able to go to DC this weekend, that is fine. As you read below, you will see that there are other actions we will need to take in coming weeks.
* Million Med March There is the Million Med March happening across the country tomorrow. Many of our local Tea Party groups are participating in the Million Med March locally. We do NOT in any way want to take away from a local group's plans with a last minute call to action. So, be sure to check under your state for what is happening locally in your area.
* Find a Local Tea Party Group Speaking of checking for activities in your local area, be sure to check out Tea Party Patriots Search Widget to find a Tea Party group near you. If you are a local coordinator and have not added your group, be sure to enter it so others can find your group and connect with you. Also, please use the code shown on that page to add the widget to your own site. Helping people to find local tea party groups across the nation is important to helping the movement grow.
* What Happens if Cloture Passes? If cloture passes tomorrow night, there will still be at least a couple of weeks and maybe longer before the final vote on the bill will occur. During this time, Senators will offer amendments and debate various aspects of the bill. If cloture passes tomorrow night, in the coming weeks, we will have detailed emails to keep you up to date and apprised of the bill's progress and our activities.

Outrage and Frustration
We have heard a lot of outrage over the past several weeks from Tea Party Patriots around the country that no matter how loud we protest, no matter how often we go to DC, no matter how large our crowds are, Congress is not listening to us. We have heard that Sen. Blanche Lincoln's office is getting phone calls 15 - 1 asking her to vote NO on cloture and against the health care bill. Despite what their constituents want, Congress appears to be doing what they want rather than representing us.

We understand your outrage and frustration. We are working on plans to change tactics while keeping the pressure on the Senate for Health Care, Cap and Trade, and the Central Valley Water issue. We will continue to work on those plans over the week of Thanksgiving. Stay posted as we work with local coordinators to announce additional plans and ideas.

In the meantime, remember the impact each of you has had around the country this year. Without your voices, your actions, and your dedication to Tea Party Patriots' core values, government would already have taken over health care and Cap and Trade would be law.

Our Founding Fathers provided us with many avenues to affect change in government and will use as many of those avenues as necessary.

With that being said, the most concerning thing we have heard from our membership is that Congressional staff are flat out refusing to listen to their constituents. There have been reports of local offices closing when members show up to talk or protest, when calling DC the phone is never answered, when calling local offices the voice mail is perpetually full, and other such incidents. Tea Party Patriots Blog Talk Radio
During the November 5th House Call visit to DC, thousands of you who could not go participated in our Tea Party Patriots Blog Talk Radio Show. Additionally, hundreds of you participated in conference calls that week to find out what was happening with Tea Party Patriots that week. After Thanksgiving, we plan to begin a regular Blog Talk Radio Broadcast.

We already have a weekly nationwide conference call with local coordinators from around the country. The blog talk radio show will give the local participants from around the country the ability to hear what is going on with Tea Party Patriots, make suggestions, ask questions, and more.

That's a plan but it won't solve the short problem and if that's not solved, we won't have a long problem to worry about. Get involved with GOOOH.com and we can change many things in two years. Meanwhile, why just the Republican party? Why not get into both parties and change them? Can you imagine what the Democrats would do if all of a sudden they are being run by conservatives? And friends, it ain't that hard. Look what Acorn accomplished while everyone slept in the cities.

We just need to head in the same direction, that's for sure.
I've about determined to work internally in the Republican party and re-take it for conservatives. The rhinos can join the donkeys... We can be a TEA Party ship or some such, setting sail for a brighter future. :)

Just rec'd this - thought it makes some great points on several issues of concern to me. 1) getting our current representatives to "hear" us and make the "change" - I'm hopeful... ha! 2) ILLEGAL immigration issues are still on the front burner for us.

I'll be focused on health care until after we KILL THIS BILL... (already called the DC offices of both Senators and 2 of the district offices as well this morning...)

but after we kill it - however long it takes - then we must do something about our borders... Here is the email:

Phone calls and faxes were so effective in 2006 and 2007 that we stopped amnesty in its tracks. We moved the immigration grade of Lincoln Davis from a B, to a B+ thanks to constituent pressure, and now with office visits, we want to move him to an A- or better.

If one phone call or fax represents 25 like-minded constituents, each reasonable person visiting a district office represents 50. That means, if 4 people show up at the district office to have a reasonable discussion, it has the same effect as a rally of 200 people!

Why? When you walk into a district office, it is both enlightening and frightening to the staffers and your congressman. It’s enlightening because they will be learning from you about immigration during your meeting (you may know more than they do). It’s frightening because they know you are motivated and activated: If they don’t listen, you may vote against them, you may tell your friends to vote against them, and you might even help the opposition candidate. In every office visit we have done so far, the staff have been cordial, and have taken notes.

You're right on, Jonathan. A grassroots movement is just that. The Republicans are trying their damndest to take over the movement. The worst thing that could happen is to move it into the national arena. The call was put out by Glenn Beck to go to Washington and 1.5 million "grassroots" people showed up. I'm 68 years old and have never seen that kind of response, even during the Vietnam protests. Then Michelle Bachman called for another and one week later 30,000 more people came. If it goes national, I guarantee, that will no longer happen.

Thanks PFMinTN for the link to the Politico article on the Tea Party movement. Everyone should read it. I believe the tensions and little skirmishes within the Tea Party Movement are actaully healthy signs that this is truly a grassroots movement. And I disagree that some kind of national, unifying leadership is essential to it's success. If anything, that will undermine it.

I really am enjoying how "they" keep sending the piranha Hillary Clinton, to tell the Mid Eastern countries how they should conduct themselves globally.

That has got to be one of the most embarrassing and idiotic spectacles I can imagine. Getting that broad to walk 5 feet behind and cover her mouth, would take an act of Congress and that has never worked!
