I've considered myself a "patriot", ever since 1976. I was 11. Of course, it was our Bicentennial. I grew up on a farm here in South Dakota and my life was filled with God, horses, guns, and rustic rural living. My sense of patriotism was awakened that year and I have been filled with an undying love for our Constitution, it's framers, and our Founding Fathers ever since. I truly believe that the Heaven I'm headed to will be as magical and wondrous as that year was for me. It was all about our Nation's 2nd birthday, Evel Kenievl, Muhammad Ali, Alan Page, and country music. I was in Heaven! Honestly though, it's been a while since I've actually felt a real sense of pride, or even optimism with the way this country has been "governed" since the election of Ronald Regan in the early 80's. I was blessed to be a member of our armed forces at that time, and a teenager, and understood what President Regan did, in real, tangible terms, to elevate our countries pride in ourselves, after the dark years of the Vietnam War. Big government, tax and spend, abortion, judicial activism, closet communists, and those among us who espouse the "freedom without responsibility" ideology, have served to severely weaken the underpinnings of our constitutional foundation and I have been suppressing my rage at all of it for many years. Now, I'm starting to feel optimistic again, I'm starting to feel pride again, and it's due to what appears to be many in our country "waking up" from a long and debilitating coma. One that has this country on the brink of SOCIALISM. The very ideology I fought so hard to defeat as I served my country in the military. Websites like this and many others, help to give me hope. Hope that we can finally turn our backs on our current course, and ultimately "readjust" the course of our nation to what it was designed to be. CONSTITUTION, CONSTITUTION, CONSTITUTION. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION!
