Freedom Rally

Please make plans to attend the Freedom Rally on January 9, 2010 at the Statehouse starting at 1:00 PM. This Rally is the result of months of planning with a coalition of more than 20 liberty groups from throughout South Carolina.

The purpose of the Rally is to show our support for two specific pieces of legislation: State Sovereignty and Transparency of State government.

We know Washington DC is off the track of constitutional governance. By enforcing the ninth and tenth amendments we can protect South Carolina from unconstitutional laws and mandates.

Currently less than 10% of the votes taken in Columbia are recorded, leaving us no way of knowing how we are being represented by our elected leaders. Could you keep your job if you told your boss that it was none of his business what you did at work? Our legislature is paid by our taxes and we have to live under the laws they create. We have a right to know how they vote on issues that affect us.

We understand there are many other important issues and we will work on those issues throughout this legislative session. However, we must start somewhere and we feel these two issues are the foundation of success on other issues.
