The American Revolution Revisited (Edited for space)

America is facing the same legal, moral and ethical questions that our Founding generation did. Today in America, the question once again comes down to "Who is Sovereign in the United States?"

American ideology and legal fact states that sovereignty rests with "we the people."

However, the Federal government today does not recognize the Sovereignty in the people of the respective states; it does not recognizes the respective States' jurisdiction over all matters not expressly delegated to the federal government; and it does not seem to acknowledge State Sovereignty under the 10th amendment of the US Constitution. Given their evident intent and purposes to continually grow in power and to continually oppress and suppress the sovereignty of we the people, against our respective states, the question becomes, how will they be made to understand this? It is of course up to the Sovereigns in each state to answer this question. And we see the answers arriving through State laws such as the Firearms Freedom Act.

The time has come in America where to be free necessarily means to resist status quo and federal usurpation and to actively change the course and philosophy being shoved down our throats. There really is no middle ground any more. This is not a matter of politics anymore. This is not a matter of Republican and Democrat. This is a matter of FREEDOM, as much so as were the matters of 1775 and 1776. It is staring you in the face, daring you to make a move. May we never be guilty of causing, whether by our apathy, indifference, laziness or comfort, this nation to lose the freedoms that our founders attempted to secure with infinite pains and labors. We the people must once again reassert our Sovereignty in this country and the States must recognize and act upon their God-ordained role as Freedom protectors and tyranny resisters.

The Continental Congress 2009 will DEFEND not amend The Constitution. Three elected delegates from each state will discuss what a free people can do if the federal government continues to ignore their concerns and will formally submit those grievances to the members of the United States Congress.

The healthcare bill, cap and trade, etc. will probably be on the agenda!

Across this nation, the American people have attended Tea Parties, and Town Hall meetings. They have called, e-mailed, faxed, written letters and walked into the local offices of their elected officials to express grievances. They have staged protest rallies in their local communities and marched on Washington, DC asking “Do You Hear Us Now?” The elected officials seem to dismiss their concerns, so it is time to enact “Plan B,” The Continental Congress 2009. This event will be held from November 9-22, 2009 in St. Charles, Illinois (and will be streamed online).

We elected three fine delegates and one alternate on Oct 10th: Joseph Andrews (voting), Tony Dolz, Dr. Orly Taitz, and Steve Favis (alternate). Joseph Andrews is a constitutional scholar and writer. Tony Dolz is one of the founders of the minutemen. Surely, you already know Orly Taitz! Go to the California page at www.GiveMeLiberty.org to read their impressive bios. Protect freedom and liberty by defending the Constitution at Continental Congress 2009. Ballots will be posted at the California page at www.GiveMeLiberty.org and must be post marked by October 10th. Elections are being held nationwide on October 10th. Continental Congress 2009 is Nov 9-22nd and will be webcast to the world.

The goal of the Continental Congress 2009 is to DEFEND the Constitution, not amend it. Similar to the Continental Congress in 1774, the Continental Congress 2009 will discuss our grievances with the government and what a free people can do about it. Many "petitions for redress" have been submitted to the federal government both formally and informally with no response. We The People held tea parties, attended our local town halls, and even marched on Washington DC. Keep the pressure on Congress but if that fails, this is Plan B! They cannot ignore this historical event, Continental Congress 2009, taking place 235 years later.

Continental Congress 2009 will meet for two weeks, from Nov 9-22, at Pheasant Run Conference Center, St. Charles, IL. We'll elect three delegates from each state to attend. Three representatives from each state legislator are invited to attend as well—they can participate in the discussions but do not have a vote. Thanks to Minutemen volunteers, invitations to California leaders were delivered TODAY. The entire event will be webcast to the world. Public Service Announcements about the upcoming Continental Congress 2009 are being broadcast now.

Dear Employee,
These days, it is not enough to promise pie in the sky. You need to reduce costs as well – and without affecting our way of life.
Over the last ten years, I have focused on being a good citizen voting in all elections and trusting my elected officials to do what’s best for my country. In the last two years, I have started to pay closer attention and have become disillusioned with my government. I’m writing this letter because it seems so fertile to send emails or to call your office as your staff say they will pass it on but nothing changes. Many of my friends and I discuss politics at work and off and we do not always agree but lately we do agree that we do not want this Cap and Trade we are also against this health care proposal . Do not take us lately or brush us off as some kind of nuts we will see that officials that vote against our wishes will be looking for work soon. We are not normally loud but we understand how much money matters and how phone banks and precincts walks work.
I would like the opportunity to show how you can put my experience to work for you. I will work for you if you vote against these horrible bills.
I am excited about your chances, and I look forward to contributing to your future.

The Cotati City Council will be discussing their 09-10 budget which has some possible tax increases. The Campaign for Liberty is joining the Sonoma County RLC and all anti-tax organizations in protesting before the meeting
