As someone who has real life experience in organizing people around the greatest common denominators of ideas, values, contribution, participation, personal growth and development, and the concept of real liberty and freedom, I identified early in life that the role of a leader is that of a facilitator, a mentor, a catalyst, consigliere, and a reasonable and prudent communicator of the reality of what is, what is possible, and the cost and consequences of the way we would like things to be. With an appreciation and respect for human nature and human behavior … an understanding and respect for the paradoxes of power … a true sense of life as something to be lived, an investment not a sacrifice, an opportunity to express one’s self through participation and contribution in your pursuit of happiness … and an awareness of and respect for each individuals uniqueness … leadership and leaders emerge as a positive influence, as a catalyst, as inspiration for others to recognize their individual potential and find their own greatness. If you believe that people are basically good, that everyone has something to contribute, that an honest and open environment … circles of trust … are what is necessary to bring out the best in people, and that leadership is a function and a responsibility rather than a position of rank and privilege … then you might me a leader.

The nurturing of productive relationships requires that every person who shares the passion and identifies with the mission needs access and the opportunity to come to the table of ideas and share their experiences, thoughts, ideas and opinions in conversations that matter. The leader who understands this understands that his/her purpose and responsibility is to set the table ... create an open and welcoming environment that encourages participation and contribution, provide the spark and some direction to enable the conversation to happen and the wisdom of the crowd to emerge ... real organic organization. The greatest teachers are perpetual students. Talking the talk of "leaderless organizations" and walking the walk of the "low profile leader" takes a disciplined and honest self-reflective approach to teaching and not preaching … engaging all the senses while listening, observing and learning. It’s about discerning the difference between the illusion of control and the power of influence.

Everything I receive asking for donations-I state in bold print, when you start listening, we'll send money.

Thomas B.,good post. I send many emails, letters and call all my reps and other reps. I do all the online petitions when I have time. I'm also not a political agenda pro. I'm just tired of being screwed over by both parties personal power plays and agenda. All I get back from them is their canned responses.

During the DC blizzard weekend, the headline reads "Obama vows to beat the blizzard of opposition on healthcare." How clueless can you be? If you find yourself in a hole, STOP digging you idiot! It is like they are strapping us down, the majority of us, and giving us a kool aid IV. Any doubts that he is purposely destroying this country should be long gone! His far left position will result in record numbers of rallies etc and will fuel our grassroots efforts and will derail the machine come November. Keep strong, keep vigilant, keep growing..

I live in the 17th congressional district in Pa. I have checked out his site and had e-mail exchanges. Brandy, of the 17th district, has not determined who we will support yet but Allen certainly deserves a look.
