I remember Kokesh when he brought a whole busload of members of World Can't Wait, ANSWER, SDS, to disrupt the recruiting station at 14th & l Street in Washington, DC. They ran around in cicles out in front of the recruiting station that day yelling silly lsogans against our Soldiers and the War. Their antics caused about 7 members of the Metro Plolice to have to stand guard out in front of the station for hours. How's that for how he disrupts the recruiters, the city and wastes our tax dollars. I remember Kokesh when he tried to stage a re-enactment of the Winter Soldier testimony of the traitor John Kerry days! We disrupted both of these events and the Winter Soldier nonsense was a debacle. Adam Kokesh is a phony who reinvents himself yearly. After many of the Iraq Veterans Against the War were exposed for being phonies, he must have decided that wasn't a good front for him anymore so now he has decided to align himself with the Repulblican party? You have got to be kidding me! Somebody needs to alert the party to do a better job vetting candidates. Adam Kokesh is a self indulgent little boy who needs to go find a commune somewhere and fool the mindless...he isn't folling any of us.

This post is just full of fail. TAH is practically a Kokesh hate site. They seem to think that disagreeing with US Foreign Policy equates to being un-American or against the troops. The reality is far different. What I would like to see is TAH address the skyrocketing suicides in the military (We lost more troops to suicide than enemy action last year. Anyone not addressing this grave situation is most assuredly NOT supporting the troops.)

Kokesh, on the other hand has been heavily involved in Veterans Issues since his return from Iraq. I visited Kokesh at the group home for vets he started in DC, where he ran PTSD counseling sessions, to find out if he was for real or not. He is. He was the token conservative in a liberal environment. I saw him defending true conservative, constitutional principles, and turning liberals away from their delusions. Kokesh has never "changed horses", he is not a "disgraced Marine" (he was discharged HONORABLY from the Marines). He is not a 'drug abuser", and has even quit drinking since his days re-adjusting from fighting in Fallujah. He realized in Iraq that the greatest threats to our country are not to be found in some far off land, but rather right here at home. He was morally outraged and was one of the first Republicans with the stones to speak up for the constitution, even when it was unpopular. He won a great victory for Veterans 1st Amendment Rights during this time, no matter how TAH tries to spin it.

So, New Mexicans are faced with a choice between a conservative who rejects the welfare/warfare state, or an actual Socialist Liberal. Kokesh's GOP opponent is about as inspiring as a pickle, who has no chance of turning the 15k swing votes needed to win NM3rd. (Further, he campaigns in churches spreading lies (as a Christian I can only pray for him), and now, after spending the last few months bragging how his professional management experience makes him more qualified than Kokesh, he filed his FEC paperwork late and has wasted his supporters money to fines/etc.)

Finally, any "conservative" who supports endless war seems very confused to me. Perhaps this video will help explain why

Hi Streetsweeper, I'd hardly call a soldier taking a war souvenir a big deal, and again, he was discharged from Active Duty HONORABLY. The political persecution he suffered AS A CIVILIAN is indicative of how far we have drifted from the Constitution.

No he did, not "show me a good time". I was sent there to vett him.

Anyone who supports endless war is NOT a conservative and has NO respect for the US Constitution. People can act like they support the Constitution all they want, but actions speak louder than words and un-declared wars are unconstitutional.

Again, New Mexico has a choice along the lines of Reagan's 80/20 rule. Either Kokesh for constitutional conservatism, or the incumbent for socialist liberalism.

Philosophically, you seem to be in agreement with gun-grabbers? Do you really think the federal gov't has the right to infringe on our inalienable right to keep and bear arms? Or are these unconstitutional laws that you are relying on to further your agenda?

And historically, soldiers have always taken home war souvenirs, so, no, I don't think it is a big deal.

Finally, his ability to work with many groups, while maintaining his own conservative principles, is a sign of leadership and will be crucial in winning NM3rd. Again, New Mexicans would do well to remember Reagan's 80/20 rule, because Kokesh is the ONLY conservative who can build the kind coalition that can take the seat away from the incumbent machine. I have witnessed him standing on principle in hostile environments and have no doubt that he will maintain those same conservative principles in office. Adam Kokesh is NOT a conservative. He is a highly articulate and persuasive young man who is taken with a sense of his own importance. He was NOT honorably discharged from the USMC; he was given a general discharge. And he was demoted from his last rank held in the Corps.

Kokesh is a liar and a self-promoting huckster. I personally encountered him in his IVAW demonstration at the US Military Recruiting Office in downtown DC, and his attitude was anything but patriotic.

I would be willing to bet (if one could get at the truth) that he voted for his fellow "conservative," Barack Hussein Obama.

Michael M. obviously doesn't know Adam Kokesh.

Adam was honorably discharged from Active Duty with the USMC. The political persecution he was subject to resulted in his discharge from the Ready Reserve with a "General Discharge, under Honorable Conditions." Get your facts straight if you want to have any credibility. I am absolutely positive that he did not vote for Obama, and I witnessed him getting people to vote for anyone but Obama. Which of his positions (that he has steadfastly maintained) do you consider "NOT conservative" He is Pro-life, Pro-Gun, Pro-National Defense, Limited Gov't, Low Taxes, and Individual Liberty.

Perhaps you are trying to change the definition of the word conservative?

And what does this prove? That Adam got busted in rank for bringing home a war souvenir? No one has ever denied that. I personally think it is ridiculous and quite frankly an infringement on our 2nd Amendment rights, but whatever. This supposed "proof" of something nefarious is even being ridiculed by your own fellow trolls.

As a Marine myself, I have met this man and other IVAW members. Now let me be clear, I disagree with them entirely on his positions regarding the war. But I trust this man to represent me if he makes it into office, something I cannot say about any one else in this race. And as for his stance on the war, Kokesh demands we either pull out OR declare war as the Constitution states, a stance I admire. I'm not the only military man who supports him either, if you will check his own blog you will find that he endorsed by many of the men and women in the 82nd Airborne, and I know plenty of my fellow Marines agree with him as well. As for his demotion, Chesty Puller, the most decorated Marine in history, once said "You're not a real Marine until you've been busted down once or twice". This man is a true patriot, and one who has proven that when his life was on the line in Fallujah (something I doubt you can say). Please check your facts before you attempt to character assassinate a man who has served his country honorably.

I listened to Bev's interview, my god man, do you even realize how ridiculous you all sound. The worst charge against Kokesh is that he participated in some IVAW events OMG!!! :rollseyes:. Was almost funny when she refused to discuss the replayed video that the interviewer had to admit he agreed with Adam on, all because she claims Adam was lying when he stated that he was a "latecomer" into IVAW. She kept ranting "Liar Liar Liar - He was a FOUNDER FOUNDER FOUNDER!!!" when all one has to do is look up the dates of when it was founded and when Adam was in Iraq. It would be laughable if not for the circumstances, and the mounting debt we are leaving our children due to reckless government...

Amazing, in the video Adam calls Obama a liar and how principled people stand against injustice no matter who is in the WH, meanwhile the video is description talks about Adam's "love" for him. Does the person who uploaded this hope that people will only read the description and not watch the video?

I am a principle before party guy. Gravel has plenty of positions I disagree with, but he seems honest. I met his wife in New Hampshire, nice lady. For certain, Adam's honest, principled positions are attractive to people on both sides of the aisle.

That is why he can win.

So New Mexicans are left with a choice between a Ron Paul type, REPUBLICAN, or the incumbant. Because a GOP establishment Oil and Gas man from Farmington has absolutely NO CHANCE of turning the 15k swing votes to win this race

In hopes of enlightening You to the real Kokesh, here are my grave concerns about Adam Kokesh, who is aspiring to become the Republican nominee for US Congress from New Mexico’s 3rd district. Mr. Kokesh has an extensive, and well-documented history of affiliations with radical leftist groups. In concert with these groups he has engaged in numerous anti-America and anti-military demonstrations and protests. Moreover, Mr. Kokesh does not appear to have any personal qualifications that would recommend him for serious consideration as a candidate for the Republican Party. He has a significant history suggestive of poor character and judgment, and he has notable incidents of direct activism against Republican office holders.

Affiliations with radical leftist groups
Mr. Kokesh joined the Iraq Veterans Against War (IVAW) in February 2007, at which time he was 25 years old. The IVAW was formed by the Vietnam Veterans Against War (VVAW), the now infamous group, formed by John Kerry in 1970, and responsible for the fraudulent maligning of our Vietnam veterans at the Winter Soldier Conference in 1971. It will be recalled that John Kerry now stands exposed as having repeated false accusations from that conference, during Congressional testimony in 1971. Similar to the VVAW, the IVAW is a virulently anti-military, anti-America group. It holds the view that our country is an imperialistic and expansionistic “One World Order” government, and that our military is but a tool of this government. Further, they believe that our soldiers are little more than marauders and murderers who, in the words of John Kerry, behave “in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan”.
Mr. Kokesh was active in the IVAW from 2007 to 2009, at which time he announced his candidacy for Republican Congressman from New Mexico. There are no indications that he has revoked his affiliations with the IVAW. As an active member of the IVAW, Mr. Kokesh was involved in numerous anti-military, and by explicit extension, anti-Bush/Republican activities and actions. While executing these actions, Mr. Kokesh knowingly and gladly, made common cause with a wide array of other well-known, radical anti-America and communist groups. The list of these other groups includes, but is by no means limited to, the following:
SDS
Code Pink
A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition
United for Justice and Peace
Communist Party of America
Muslim Brotherhood
Black Panthers
In cooperation with the above-named groups and the IVAW, Mr. Kokesh: participated in multiple anti-war demonstrations in Washington DC, and other cites throughout the country; organized and incited violent demonstrations at military recruiting stations; participated in an initiative to encourage active duty soldiers to desert their military post; organized and participated in a Winter Soldier Conference 2, an effort designed to malign and undercut the moral of our soldiers who were fighting and dying on the battlefield. Even a most cursory search of the Internet will yield a plethora of documents attesting to the veracity of these assertions.



Personal character questions, and anti-Republican Party activities
Apart from his considerable radical leftist affiliations and activities, there many concerns about Mr. Kokesh’s general personal qualifications for congressman; and we have specific concerns about the appropriateness of his being considered for being a Republican congressman. Mr. Kokesh has no history of personal accomplishments or achievement, yet he does have a notable history of poor judgment and illegal behavior. Moreover, he has no history of supporting the Republican Party, and in fact has been actively unsupportive and undermining of the Party.
Mr. Kokesh’s personal accomplishments and achievements appear to be limited to his having served in the Marine Corps from 1999 until 2006, and his political activism with the IVAW from 2007 until 2009. His MC service was basically unremarkable, in terms of citations, medals, and commendations, and it was ultimately marked by a demotion in his discharge rank, from Sergeant to Corporal, and a downgrading of his discharge status from honorable to general. Mr. Kokesh’s tenure with the IVAW has been noted above and need not be repeated here.
There are no indications that Mr. Kokesh has ever maintained any private sector employment, and unless otherwise proven, it might be assumed that his ‘work’ with the IVAW was financed through contributions to that organization, finances that often originated in leftist organizations such as MoveOn.org. Other than an undergraduate degree in Psychology, there are no indications that Mr. Kokesh has achieved any academic standing that might, given his young age and his otherwise lack of general accomplishments, recommend him for serious consideration for Congress.
There are numbers of incidents in Mr. Kokesh’s personal life that suggest that he employs poor judgment, and that he has trouble coping with stress. Examples of his poor judgment include the following: he smuggled a gun home from Iraq, and then was apprehended when he bought it onto a college campus; he has incited protestors to engage in violent actions against military recruiting stations, and; he incited unrest on a college campus by hanging racist poster around the campus, and signed the posters as being a member of the college conservative Republican organization.



Given the above, it is our position that Mr. Kokesh is in no way qualified to represent the Republican Party in Congress. In fact, if his history is any indicator of his future performance, it is most likely that he will behave in a manner that is antithetical to the positions and values of the Republican Party. In our view, a Kokesh candidacy will at best, precipitate much conflict within the Republican Party, and, at worst, invite derision from outside of the party.

Like you, we are interested in maintaining the integrity of the Republican Party. We understand that this is a time when the party leadership is striving to reconcile disparate ideas within the party, and to clarify its unified voice. A Kokesh candidacy would be completely at odds with those strivings and ideals.

We are urging the Republican Party to withhold any endorsement of a ‘Kokesh for Congress’ candidacy. We look forward to hearing from you.
