A message to all members of Grassroots in Nebraska
I have been receiving responses to the poll sent out yesterday asking for input on actions we should take regarding the health care bill and keeping pressure on Senator Nelson.
The consensus so far has been "all of the above".
So we'll start with this Thursday at the Capitol and here's the plan:
* Please gather at the Centennial Mall across from the Capitol on K St. at 5:30pm
* Bring *LARGE* FLASHLIGHTS This rally is being planned as a candle light vigil - so we want people to bring the BIGGEST flash light you own - in fact bring several - and if you are so moved, go out and buy one of those really big ones that stand up by themselves on the ground so we can set up a perimeter of lights around our group
* Bring signs with messages that include SOLUTIONS for health care or referencing the Constitution. Please avoid just saying "no" or pouncing on the President.
* Please come with the plan of being the silent resistance. This is VERY important. The folks who were at the rally put on by LEA have very specific advice for anyone participating in this that I really believe we should follow. It is CLEAR that these things are orchestrated and people are put on the job of provoking opposition. Succumbing to the temptation to mix it up with instigators will not end well.
* I'll be sending out reminders with links to some sign ideas including slogans and graphics. I hope to have some additional information about the next action we will take as well.
