A question came up on how to become a precinct committee chairperson.

I talked to Greene County Clerk Richard Struckhoff on the phone. He
said that the filing time to file as precinct committee chairperson is
the same time as the filing time for all other candidates running for
office this next year. The dates are from Feb. 23, 2009 until 5:00 p.m.
on March 30, 2009. Your precinct will be listed on your voter
registration card.

You would need to go to the courthouse during the filing dates, and
complete a form to file as committee chairperson for your precinct. You
will have the choice to file as a Republican, a Democrat, or a
Libertarian. Precinct committee persons are recognized in Greene County
for all three of these parties.

Even if the Greene County Central Committee already has a person filling
the position of Committee Person for your precinct, you can still file
for this position, just like any other candidate. When the primary
takes place (in August this year), if there are contenders for this
position, then the names will be listed on the ballots given to that
specific precinct. The people in your own neighborhood can vote on
their precinct chairperson. If there are no contenders then you would
be granted that position by default.

Of course if you belong to another party, you cannot cross party lines
and register as a committee person for a party you don't belong to.
This will be discussed in further detail at the seminar on Saturday that is being sponsored by Patriotic Resistance and Campaign For Liberty.

The Nixa parade turned out great. Thanks to all the helpers, including Patsy, Denise, Jim, Ernest, Fred & Janice, my son Aaron, and myself. We also had 3 or 4 people from Billy Long's campaign who were walking just in front of us, and they decided to help us set up and tear down the float (that was nice of them). The weather was sunny and cool (but not cold until after the parade was over). I estimate we gave out about 2000 flyers. Everyone (except one Democrat) really liked our float. We probably could have entered it in for the judging. Janice took some pictures. Thanks again to all who helped.

The parade was really good. There seemed to be a lot of postive response from the people watching. Thanks again to everyone.

I had a great time at the Parade. Hopefully many got the message and will join the cause!

The Nixa Christmas Parade is tomorrow (Dec. 6th). We will be meeting at 1:00 p.m. (parade actually starts at 2:00 p.m.). The floats are lining up at the Nixa Junior High, 205 North Street in Nixa. To get there, take Campbell Street south from Springfield until you get to Nixa. At Highway 14 turn left (east) and go about 3 blocks to Main Street. Turn left (north) on Main and go about 1/2 mile to North Street. Turn right on North Street, and the Nixa Junior High is at 205 North Street.

Parking for those working on the floats is at Century Elementary (or somewhere close). Century is also located on North Street. The address is 732 North Street, which is about 8/10 mile further east on North Street. It is just past the Community Center. Traffice will be very congested on North Street, so probably anywhere you can find to park should be fine. But the float will be parked by the Nixa Junion High.

We have a big red truck with a flatbed trailer. The trailer has a large cedar tree in front with ornaments that say things like "New Senator" "New Rep." etc. Then will be presents under the tree saying the same kinds of things. Also a recycler machine that says "2010 Recycler." Then a sign that says "Recycle Congress."

Thanks to all those who helped with the float.

We still need people to pass out candy and flyers.

Call Glenn Gohr (865-0777), Jim Moore (576-6667) or Janice Ellison (234-4427) if you have any questions.
