To all,
You all know that I recently wrote to Senator McCaskill, expressing my displeasure at her support of Craig Becker, the SEIU attorney, as a member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Here is her somewhat arrogant response I just received via e-mail. From the looks of it, she supports an SEIU takover of the NLRB.

February 22, 2010Dear Mr. Bulver,

Thank you for contacting me regarding the nomination of Craig Becker to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). I appreciate hearing from you, and welcome the opportunity to respond.

After receiving his law degree from Yale Law School, Craig Becker clerked for the 8th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, was a professor at the UCLA Law School, and most recently served as associate counsel for the Service Employees International Union. On April 24, 2009, President Obama announced Becker's nomination to the National Labor Relations Board. Many in the business community expressed their displeasure with this decision, claiming that his past research offered positions that were too far reaching and would compromise the fairness of the NLRB in their view.

I support Mr. Becker's nomination; however, on February 9, 2010, an effort to end an ongoing filibuster of his nomination failed on the Senate floor.

The ability to collectively bargain to establish wages, hours of work and working conditions are internationally recognized basic rights. Many businesses respect these rights and strive to have a strong working relationship between business leaders and organized labor. I believe it is important for industries to protect workers' rights while engaging in fruitful dialogue with their workforce, and I will continue to work for a healthy relationship between labor and management.
Again, thank you for contacting me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of further assistance to you on this or any other issue.

Sincerely,

Claire McCaskill
United States Senator

How in the world could Senator Claire McCaskill vote for the Health Care Bill when it is so vehemently opposed by a majority of citizens? I thought Senators and Representatives were supposed to follow the will of the people. Being Senator Landrieu, of Louisiana got a 300 million dollar "perk" for her state in return for her "yes" vote, what did Obama offer Claire McCaskill in the way of a bribe?
