Precinct Committeeman: Do it TODAY
If you are considering becoming a precinct committeeman, TODAY is the day to do it. There may be a fast approaching deadline in order to participate in the January meeting. Each county is different so the deadline may be different.
I think that date for Maricopa County is November 2 to become a PC to be active in January. Once you fill out the application, it will need to go to a District Chairperson, County Chairperson and Board of Supervisors. This will take time.
So, DO IT RIGHT NOW, TODAY. Yes, I am asking everyone one of you to do this. Just in Maricopa County there are 6300 slots available. How many do you think were filled during the last election? Only 1900!! And those were split about 50/50 between moderates and conservatives. Some of the votes by the PC’s were determined by less than 5 votes. The best way to have an impact on the Republican Party is to become a PC. So, DO IT RIGHT NOW, TODAY. DO NOT DELAY.

Earlier today, I put up my first post about becoming a PC and referenced a blog www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com that I came across when looking for PC info. Well then tonight, I attended a meeting and listened to someone very passionately talk about becoming a PC. Afterward, I spoke to this person and asked whether they had a blog. Yes, you guessed it, same blog that I referenced just this morning. Small world we live in!
One of the things he said that was the most interesting…
The candidates will call you to ask for your endorsement. Because they know you may just be knocking on doors to get out the vote.
OKAY, NOW GO SIGN UP–RIGHT NOW–NO DELAY–YOU CAN DO IT–YES EVERYONE OF YOU!
Here is how to sign up:
Easy steps to become a PC:
* Check your voter id for your district and precinct info
* Google Republican Party Chairman and your county name
* Find your Republican Party legislative district and precinct organization
* Contact the chairman to let them know you want to become a PC
* In Maricopa County: call 623-977-4532

Darla, does every state have PC's? Here in Michigan, all I could find was "precinct delegate" and they are elected in the primaries.

They are called different things in each state...most all get elected...but they run usually uncontested....and no one running against. So find out the process in your area and if any delegate positions are available.

Just a note:
You have to be a Precinct Committee-wo/man before 12/31/2009 to be able to VOTE in the party elections for executive committeess, state platform, etc., in 2010 if you live in AZ. You can still become a PC after 12/31 and make a difference but will not be allowed to vote within the party until 1/1/2011. DO IT NOW!!
You should check in your State to find out if that is true for YOUR State as well. If you are thinking about joining the Repub Committee you need to do it NOW!!!

Darla, I have a wee bit of a problem. I have started the Ozaukee Patriots, Ozaukee Co, WI, and the Ozaukee Co Republican Chairman is giving us a hard time. That doesn't mean that the whole party is against us, just him and some of his cronies.
I don't think he would be very happy to have anybody related to a tea party patriots group as precinct committeemen. As a matter of fact, I am sure he doesn't want any precinct people at all. So this complicates things. Advice?

I am not sure when your deadline to get on the ballot as a precinct Exec is. But what you need to do is go to your board of elections and ask them what you need do to become a PC. It is public knowledge they have to tell you. Then organize as many constitutional conservatives as you can to get on the ballot as PC's. If you gain a majority and stick together you can actually unseat that chairman and vote in one of your own, if you do that you will have good constitutional candidates on your ballots. Because you will be the ones picking them!
I am a new PC here in Ohio, I am also involved with nationalprecinctallaince.org we are a site that is dedicated to getting constitutionally conservative people into precinct seats.
But do not give up Joanne, this is too important not to do it!
