Just found another 'gap' in Obamas' fight for veterans. My father-in-law is in a seniors' facility due to early-stage Dementia. The VA is heping by paying the difference between what he has, and what they charge, roughly $2,ooo. This January, the facility is raising its' rates, much as ours, if we were renting, at about 6%. The VA, AND Social Security both have a freeze on an increase in payouts, for the next TWO years! We all know the coming inflation squeeze; guess who's going to make up any difference? He can't, that's certain. All in the name of helping Seniors, and Veterans!

Hey all, The Freedom Group is holding a meeting at the American Legion in Jasper, IN Nov. 19th at 7pm. I know it is short notice, but it is available as a grass roots movement starting in this area. This is the 1st meeting of this group in this area and is being presented by leaders of a group in Brown County. My understanding is this is call to meet, organize and take action concerning our elected officials(local, state and federal levels) and holding them accountable to represent the people that voted them in. Also, they will be hitting on the irresponsibility of federal spending. They are planning to hold meetings twice a month. There is also an effort to organize those interested in researching and understanding the Constitution in order to hold our politicians accountable to it.


This is the 1st of its type here, that I am aware of, and the 1st I've heard of this group. I've been assured that this is not a gripe session, but a group focused on the substance of the current political dynamic and taking action to preserve the intent of our founding fathers. Hope to see some fellow patriots there!!

Count me in as another mass email reciever from Sen. Bayh. Even when you don't specifically ask about the Healthcare issue, he touts his' loyalty' to his fellow hoosiers. I just didn't realize that even he could stack s--- that high!

Count me as another who received his dribble.

Bayh is in a pickle: if he votes for healthcare he will lose the support of the conservatives that voted him into office...if he votes against it, he loses his left wing base.

My bet is he will vote the way Harry Reid tells him to. Go to DC and challlenge him. I did, and he told me that he wouldn't vote for the healthcare bill, but I felt that he was lying.

Jon: I, too, received that same email. Like you, I emailed him back also asking him to speak out against the Senate Health Care Reform Bill. Although, I do not believe that he will, as he even states in his letter that our money would be better spent on healthcare, education and tax-cuts for the middle class. If he speaks out against this bill, I will be totally shocked. 2010 can't get here fast enough for me.

I received this E Mail from Bayh today. patting himself on the back for doing his job. If he weren't running for reelection next year, I'm sure the votes would have been different. Anyway, I challenged him to speak out against the Senate health Care bill and publicly announce his opposition. Guess we'll see what happens. Did anyone else get this E Mail?

I received this Email from you today detailing your nt voting record against recent spending bills. I applaud your decisions to resist massive Government spending and deficits.
If you are truly concerned about spending and the future of our country, I ask you to speak out publicly, now against a Cloture vote on the Senate Health Care Reform bill. This is a bad bill, costing TRILLIONS of dollars with no discernible improvement in coverage. This is a lot to spend in insure only a few million currently not insured. Speak out now for responsible reform and fix only what is broken. keep the Govt. out of Health Care.

Getting out of the red

Usually, politicians use their email newsletters to tout the benefits of government programs they voted to create, fund or continue. Today, I am emailing to tell you about the overstuffed appropriations bills I've voted against in 2009, because we can't afford business as usual during this economic recession.

As you will see from the chart below, I have voted against thousands of earmark spending projects this year, including projects to study Monk Seals, combat Mormon crickets, renovate the Hoover building and recover oysters from Chesapeake Bay.

Indiana deserves to have an independent voice in the nation’s capital who will stand up for what’s right. I was one of only three members of my party to vote against the omnibus spending bill because it raised spending at three times the rate of inflation. I was one of only two to vote against the federal budget, because I believe it's irresponsible for America to keep spending money we do not have.

Before the year is out, Congress will vote to raise the federal debt ceiling again, authorizing Washington to borrow even more than the record $12 trillion we already owe. I won't do it...not unless Congress commits to a strict new, non-political process to start getting our country's fiscal house in order.

Enough is enough.

Each citizen's share of the debt now exceeds $38,000. When our deficits grow, we are forced to spend more and more taxpayer money on interest payments. That money would be better spent on health care for our citizens, education for our kids and tax relief for middle-class families.

We can't keep charging to the national credit card. Washington needs a credible plan to pay its bills. Last week, I stood up in the Senate and told my colleagues so.

Controversial Obama nominee, Judge David Hamilton, is being
covertly ushered through a Senate confirmation vote next week.

The "No to Jesus, Yes to Allah" judge, David Hamilton, is now
scheduled for a confirmation vote by the full Senate as early
as next Tuesday. This pro-abortion, anti-faith radical nominee
is up for a lifelong appointment to the Seventh Circuit Court
of Appeals.

We are appalled at his very nomination.

As anticipated, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is trying to
limit debate on Hamilton and slip the final vote under the radar.
Thus far, all of Obama's liberal judicial appointees have been
approved by the Democratic controlled Senate.

I've recently released a statement, along with other pro-life
advocates, calling on lawmakers to oppose Hamilton. In the
letter we state that, "Judge Hamilton fails to meet the
qualifications"... and that his record indicates that he decides
cases "on the basis of his politics and personal agenda instead
of the Constitution."

++Tell the Senate, "He is NOT qualified!"

Here is what I'm asking you to do: We are bombarding the Senate
with a Fax Barrage expressing our outrage over Hamilton's appointment.

Fellow Patriots, Hamilton is a former ACLU activist who, as a district
court judge, ruled that prayers using "Christ's name or title" were
sectarian and therefore unconstitutional. Then he ruled that prayers
to "Allah" were acceptable.

He ruled, "NO" to Jesus but "YES" to Allah! How skewed was his judgment?
The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals overturned his decision. Yet

President Obama has now nominated Hamilton to serve on the very court
that rebuked him!

In addition, this former ACORN fundraiser and pro-abortion advocate
blocked reasonable informed consent abortion laws and has a long
history of overt judicial activism.

This is clearly NOT a man whose judgment warrants a
PROMOTION to a lifelong appointment in a HIGHER
Court!

Stand with me, and the leaders of many other pro-life advocacy groups,
in stopping this dangerous appointment by the Senate. Even if you
have done so before, we need a HUGE outpouring of protest to stop
this travesty!
