Rick;
Just making some rounds, and trying to catch up w/ everybody.
Noticed your comment about being lumped w/ all in district. In talking to our regional leader(s) we're going to try to get back to doing things on a more community, personal fashion, then fan out to influence wider areas. In using a more personal level, we can really see what our candidates are made of(I know, some things are better left unknown!)
If we take on things on a more personal level, that passion for change can come through easier.
Wasn't Pete involved in a minor scandal recently? How's that playing out? Any changes? Be talking to y'all a little later. Dave
Rick Johnson Comment by Rick Johnson on November 11, 2009 at 9:14am
Unfortunately, those of us in Jasper County have been lumped in with the larger pool of district 1 also. Maybe we could mobilize more conservatives from our county with those in Lake county and remove Visclosky. You are right, 25 years is too long. I think we need to start pushing term limits without extended benefits.

Mark Leyva would be a fine candidate but maybe in the first district he needs to run as a Democrat and try to take out Pete in the primaries? I know it is a weird strategy but 1st district hasn't elected a Republican since 1924. We do not need Republicans in Congress as much as we need Conservatives who represent We the People! After Dede Scozzafava I have become more interested in the "by whatever means necessary" idea and trying to take Pete down in the primary seems more doable to me. Ideas?

Did you see the Department of Homeland Security's report on "Right Wing Extremists"! They are pretty much trying to make decent Americans that are pro-life, pro-gun, veterans and patriotic into the enemy! We are not too far from Chitcago here- what about the 100,000 gang memebers there? Isn't that a bigger threat to people! We are witnessing the over-throw of the American way of life right before ours eyes! The good news to me is that I think more people are starting to follow politics- they are starting to wake up and not be fooled by propaganda. We must start getting organized soon- we need to talk to people as much as we can about what is going on- and make sure they do the same and get out and vote. Our way of life is at stake.
Brenda Comment by Brenda on March 15, 2009 at 7:46am
I agree, Earl. BTW, did anyone ever tell you that your posted pix resembles Alec Baldwin? I hate his politics but he is a brilliant actor.

Another problem seems to be the "Republican leadership" in Snake, oops, LAKE County. John Curley wants to work with the new annointed one, McDermott. What is wrong with Republicans? They want to spend us into oblivion and cozy up next to Dems with WRONG policies! What is so wrong about protecting our borders, language and culture? Why are we racists when we demand that OUR legislators uphold the rule of law? I am sick of it!
Don't think for one minute that we are the minority...we are the SILENT MAJORITY. If we don't act now and start forming ACORN-type groups to rally the people then we are doomed for a lifetime of "Soylent Green" conditions. I could go on...but it would just make my day go sour.
James Colby Comment by James Colby on March 15, 2009 at 5:03am
Glad to see someone is out here in NW Indiana that cares too. We are surrounded by people that vote for Liberals around here- we need to help change people's minds. Things are getting worse-not better under the new "regime". We need to mobilize people like us to get out the message of what WE believe in together as a group ( Life, Libery, Pursuit of happiness- What it's all about! Being a Real American!). If enough of us join- we can have meetings. The Democrats do it. They had an office in Schererville. If we had money-we could do something like this and set up a place where we can register people to vote- might not cost too much if there is enough of us- and Mr. Obama lets us keep more of our money (good luck).
Brenda Comment by Brenda on March 14, 2009 at 3:41pm
I live in the Robertsdale section of Hammond and I will make it my personal goal to see that Thomas McDermott, Jr. is NOT re-elected! Besides he has higher political aspirations like Governor. Petie V has got to go too. I want conservative candidates, especially fiscal ones.
James Colby Comment by James Colby on March 14, 2009 at 1:25pm
We need to better organize in 2010 to try and mobilize people to elect a candidate like Leyva to get Visclosky out of office. 25 years is too long.
