The Union County grassroots group will meet this Thursday in Blairsville:

If you live in the north Georgia mountains area please plan to attend.
This meeting will be the kick off of a citizen lobbyist training program with a formal presentation by Life & Liberty Lobbyist next month and then registration with the State Ethics Commission.
Trained citizen lobbyists are relatively new but seem to be getting a good initial reception from the legislators.
With only 40 days in the legislative session it is important to make each day count.

Don't get me wrong Zeb, I really like Ron Paul, he voted against the appropriations bills, but took the money for his district, I don't get it. But I would much rather have him than the communist we have in office now. I just get hacked off about these guys taking money from the taxpayers for pet projects in their districts. We'll see what shakes out in 2012, I may wind up voting for Ron Paul if I don't see a better choice from the GOP. I thought there were 535 representatives in the House, let's see, 9th district is Nathan Deal isn't it?

It was Dr. Broun that defined RP as a constitutionalist. I, personally, am not certain what he is or actually stands for. And I did not know he was into pork. Not good points for RP. Furthermore it appears that C4L is nothing more than the Ron Paul campaign volunteer list. So where does that leave them? My sadness is that the GOP "chosen one" in my district is a disciple of his predecessor. This will set up the 9th as a non-contributor to solutions needed in the greater effort in D.C..

Thank God he's my Representative, I wish we had 500 more just like him. I was actually hoping that he was going to run against Isakson for his Senate seat, not going to happen I guess. As far as Paul being a constitutionlist, where in the constitution did it give him the authority to loot $400 million in 2007 from the taxpayers and again just this year from the Obama stimulus bill another $73 million in PORK! Please enlighten me because I can't seem to get a good answer from even the most staunch RP supporter. I think it's hypocritical for a man to preaching limited Government and limited Government spending but all the while taking money from the taxpayers for pet projects in his district, it just pisses me off!

We listened to Representative Broun, U. S. District 10, speak at the Rabun GOP this morning. He did not give a stump speech although three people are running against him. Broun holds himself out to be a constitutionalist with Ron Paul. The main thrust of his presentation was for people to get involved. Interesting thing happened when I was setting up a blast fax directory for the Ways and Means committee. Representative Knight's staff would not give me the fax number because the state no longer funds them for a fax machine and the representative has to buy the paper and toner himself.
What did they do with the raise they voted themselves, I wonder?
