I have not been on in a while...and I am sorry for not keeping you guys updated.

I will be having a sort of Town Hall on Jan. 5, 2010 at 7pm. I do not know the location yet, but hope to have that determined within this or next week.

I will be sharing the stage with Les Phillip, who is running for Congressional District 5 House of Reps against Parker Griffith. He is not the only Republican running for the seat, but he is the most conservative.

I am hoping to book a school gym or something like that in Lauderdale or Colbert County for this event. If any of you have any connections, please let me know.

Thanks, Angel. Great ideas...I will try to implement them all as I can.

Thing about bumper stickers...I need to buy them in order to sell them. So, I have to wait for some funding to do that one. But I will definitely be doing it.

Denel, those CDs about how to swing a bat--you take them to the yard sale or you might try to sell them to little leaguers when they sign up for baseball or stand outside a sports store and offer them for sale. Another idea is to sell bumper stickers--they are cheap and a good fund raiser.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Most of you know that this campaign is a very definite grass roots effort. I am not a career politician. Everything about this campaign is being ran pretty much out of my home office and on my home computer. We have meetings at a local business, Mug.com, which has been so helpful. And we have a couple of people working online in the different social networks, including facebook.

A huge lesson for me over the last month has been that it takes a lot more than desire to run a campaign. I have so appreciated the moral and spiritual support I have been receiving. The words of encouragement and the countless number of prayers have been very uplifting.

However, it does take a great deal more than moral and spiritual support to run a campaign. This campaign is pretty much at a stand-still at this point because their is one thing that is required that we are severely lacking. That is financial support.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here is what we currently have left:
200 business cards
48 palm cards
$9.00 between checking account and paypal account.

Now, I do have some card stock for printing more palm cards and business cards, but I do not have anymore ink. It is more efficient to have palm cards and business cards made, but that requires funding as well.

I was unable to reserve the Florence Coliseum for March 17, 2010 as I had intended because funding for it did not come in. I do have one person who has pledged some funding towards it, but we need much more than they can give.

Now that I have told you of where we stand, let me tell you of some ideas that have been passed along for fund raising. Please let me know what you think of these ideas, and if you would be willing to participate.

1. A HUGE yard sale...probably indoors. It would be great if we had a lot of people come and bring items to sell. If you come and participate, you could sell your items yourself, and then you determine how much of the proceeds go to the campaign. Or, you can get items to someone on the campaign, and we will sell them and put all of the proceeds towards the campaign. Of course, we need a location for this. We could really use help in finding a location.

2. Have a raffle. I have no idea what we would raffle off, so I need help with that. Also, we need to get raffle tickets, figure out how to sell them, and when to have the drawing. Anyone that has a donation of something that people would like to win, that would be wonderful.

3. We were given 50 CD-Roms that instruct youngsters on how to swing a bat. These sell online for $19.99. We have not set any kind of sell price, or figured out how or where to sell them.

4. We could sell campaign t-shirts. I kind of like this idea the most. But, we need a t-shirt designed. Anyone with that particular gift, please let me know. Also, I need to know really how many people would be interested in purchasing a t-shirt, as we would have to have an initial order. We also would need to upgrade the website to host a web store. This would cost about another $50.

If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. We will be having an open campaign meeting on Nov. 21, and I would really like to give the campaign team a positive update.

Hey all,
Smart Girl Politics is having a nationwide voter registration drive this Sunday, Nov. 1, in honor of Susan B. Anthony.

Florence, AL will be having their's at the Foodland on Darby Dr, just off Florence Blvd in the same lot as McDonald's and Big Lots, 1pm-5pm.

We could use some help. We have received word from the board of registrars that we are allowed to have other fliers there. So, if anyone wants to bring fliers for like the Winter Welcome Back Rally, or March on Montgomery, that would be fine. Even Resistnet fliers or tea party fliers...it is allowed. Please only fliers, no petitions.

If you bring fliers, please make sure someone is there with them. I don't want to give out wrong answers to anyone that asks questions.

I did...but she has so many supporters on her page, that I think what I wrote got lost real quick. I did have one person contact me from it, though. So, I guess that was good. I wonder how people get her attention.

Maybe if all my supporters started publicly talking about me, and get my name out there, that might help.

Go to Sarah Palin's page on Facebook and ask for her support by lending her name to your pages. I expect it would help you and her both.

We have reached over 200 supporters on our facebook page! Our facebook group is starting to grow, as is our membership on the website. We need to keep going, though!

5. We are really in need of financing. Our immediate need is $600. If everyone pitched in just a little bit, that would be covered in no time, without causing a financial burden on any one person.
