I read in the Bradenton Herald this morning about the "smart meters" that FPL plans on putting on using on our homes. I called FPL and they say they were given $200 million in stimulus directly from the fed. govt for green projects. Most of it was used for solar panel farms in FL, the rest for the smart meters. These meters will be able to tell us how much energy we are using on a daily and hourly basis-ya know, to HELP us use less energy (sarcasm). I believe they are using these meters in Europe. In Switzerland, for example, your energy is rationed. If you go above the approved usage, the govt will be at your door. If you leave a light on at night and your neighbor notices, they might call the govt and the govt will be at your door the next day. I do not want a smart meter on my home and I don't approve of my money being used that way.

As for the solar panel farm...the one in DeSota powers 3 thousand homes at the cost of $50,000.00 each!

This green movement is a fraud. It is all about control and the redistribution on wealth. Green is the new Red!

What can we do about this FPL smart meter? I think Floridians should refuse them on the basis of control and wasteful spending-what do you thinK?
