Hi all District 8 Patriots. The first of many dinners to introduce the candidates of Central Florida to their constituents will be held on February 4th, Thursday from 6-8 PM at the IHOP at I-4 and John Young Parkway.
We look forward to a full house - this first dinner will feature all District 8 candidates. They will introduce themselves and mingle with all of you to answer all your questions.
We are asking everyone that attends to eat a meal of some sort to thank IHOP for helping us by holding this first meet and greet.
You can contact Diana at 407-466-1993 to RSVP so we can get an idea of how many will attend. YOu can also e-mail Lisa at floridiansunite@gmail.com.

Scott Brown (R) is leading 48-47 in Massachusetts!!!! http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/01/toss-up-in-massachusetts.html

This is the special US senate race on Jan 19th. Scott says he will vote to KILL Obamacare if he is elected. We have made up 30 points in the last month and are ahead by one!
Organizing for America is sending out info for a phone bank for Coakley (D) today. MoveOn.org and SEIU are pouring money into the race to get Coakley elected. We NEED to win this one.
Scott Brown needs our help and the national phone bank is the key. Please join today
People across the country are calling, and Tea Party and 912 groups everywhere are getting involved as well. If all of us make calls for the next 8 days with a HUGE get out the vote calls on Jan 19th then we CAN win. Scott's vote is #41 in the Senate and KILLS Obamacare, Cap and Trade and anything else the Dems throw at us. Do NOT allow another progressive backed by SEIU into the senate!

After this healthcare fiasco, we NEED Marco Rubio in the Senate fighting for us.
Talk to everyone you meet about Marco. Convince independents to switch to Republican for the primary in August so they can vote for Marco. Ask everyone to contribute at:
www.marcorubio.com.
Even if we all send $9.12 it will help him out.
If you call his campaign headquarters they will send you bumper stickers.
We need Marco to post a high contribution total this month to show Crist we will take him down and embarass him in August.

The Massachusetts special election is Jan 19th. Make PHONE CALLS FOR FREEDOM. Help get Scott Brown (R) elected to the U.S. Senate.
This election is so important to give the Republican Senate 41 votes and take away the Democrat's filibuster proof majority. And we can send a clear message to Washington that we mean what we say and we CAN affect election outcomes in 2010. And Scott's vote could be important in the healthcare bill if the Republicans are successful in dragging out the vote.

Volunteers who are interested in making calls from home to citizens of Massachusetts on Scott Brown's behalf, please contact Field Director Brad Hansen at:

brad@brownforussenate.com or call 509-595-4683

Brad will set you up with a username and password. You will receive an email with your unique user name and password, as well as a link to the website where you will log in. Once you are logged in, watch the tutorial on how to use the system and then you can start making calls.

Massachusetts has not elected a Republican to the Senate in forty years. Let's change that with the Vote Heard Round the World!

Thanks Diana,
Here is the latest from dear Steve Crusafulli. It is amazing that the state legislators just don't get it after all we have said the past year.

I am sorry that you are displeased with my response. When I receive a form letter, a form letter is sent out in response. In fact, I was in the middle of working on a personal response to your email, which was not the same as the other form letters. You would have received it, had you not sent this response before I had a chance to complete my answer to your particular email.
Yes, our state will run about a $2.6 billion deficit in the coming Fiscal Year. As I state in the email, the dollars for SunRail are not new dollars, nor do they constitute a tax increase. SunRail is being paid for with existing dollars, as is TriRail. The $2.5 billion in federal money for high-speed rail is part of the federal stimulus package. Whether you and I like it or not, that money has already been appropriated by the federal government. In other words, our tax dollars are already paying for it. The money is up for grabs to all 50 states - our state can either attempt to get some value out of our tax dollars, or we could just let it go to benefit people in other states. I don't know about you, but I would prefer to help Floridians benefit. We are all paying for that money, either way.
Furthermore, in my email response, I explained that the dollars being used for SunRail can NOT be used to fund education - these dollars are raised by doc stamps and come from the Department of Transportation's budget; the money does not come from the education budget.
I disagree with you that no one would utilize high-speed rail. The ultimate goal would be to connect the major metropolitan areas of the state. It would be faster, easier, and cheaper to travel from Orlando to Jacksonville or Miami via rail than via car. It would also help the many tourists who visit our state each year.
I'm sorry to hear that you will not vote for me if I support commuter rail. Keep in mind that, as the saying goes, your 80% friend is not your 20% enemy. Regardless, I have a job to do, and I believe that investing in Florida's infrastructure future is an important part of that job.
Respectfully,
Steve

Don't you just love the 80/20 line. He really doesn't get it.
