The Alabama Patriots Coalition are planning a State wide "Winter Welcome Back Rally" in Montgomery, AL. We are working with our Fellow Tea Party Organizers around the State. Our State wide goal is to encourage Legislator's to pass a State Sovereignty Resolution during the 2010 Session!! We will have the Rally January 19, 2010 on the steps of the State House . The Rally will start at Noon and last till 1 p.m. We are having it in January due to the fact that if this gets passed it must go thru the House, Senate, and the Governor. The normal Session usually only last 105 days!! Here are some other reasons why we feel this Rally is needed:

This will be the 3rd time this State Sovereignty Resolution had been introduced in the House by Rep. Mac Gipson. It has been held up in the past by the RULES Committee. Not only does this Resolution mention our 9th and 10th amendment rights but, it also mentions our 2nd amendment rights as well (The Right To Bear Arms). Scott Beason in the Senate also submitted one in the Senate last session it was held up in committee as well. Clearly this Resolution isn't going to pass itself especially if the Rules Committee will not let in onto the Floor for a vote!!!!! We must unite as a State and show our support!! We will also be supporting the Health Care Amendment which will have to pass the legislative process then go before a vote of the people of Alabama. It has not been introduced before. It should be introduced in the House and Senate as well. This Amendment will make sure that no matter what Washington passes Alabama citizens will be able to choose who provides their Health Care!! Also, there will be a Firearm/Ammo. Bill introduced in the House and Senate. This bill is like the one Montana passed earlier this year. It will exempt certain firearms, Ammunition, and firearm accessories made inside Alabama from Federal Regulation under the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

We also plan to have a "Special Meeting" with Representatives & Senators at 11 a.m. We are targeting the key players in the legislation process. We hope they decide to attend!! We ask that anyone getting the petitions signed please contact your Congressmen/women and set up a meeting to turn your petitions in. You can do it the day of the rally or schedule your meeting before the session starts in your area.

We feel this is an important way that Alabama can send a message to Washington D.C. Hands off our States Rights!! The intent of this Rally is Alabama's way of serving notice and demand to the Federal Government to cease and desist any and all activities outside the scope of their constitutionally-delegated powers. This is nothing radical, (We are NOT promoting Secession!) just the States legal way of reminding the Federal Government what is plainly stated in the U.S. Constitution!

Although we hope our efforts to stop Cap & Trade, The Health Care Bill, and SEVERAL other important Bills/Treaties will be won on a Federal level.
We know that should one or more of the above pass, we then will rely on our State to Defend our God given rights!! Alabama is OUR 2nd line of defense! Several States have already passed similar legislation and other States are in the process!

This Rally will give our State Legislators a chance to meet and see us!! We want our message to be clear!! Save Our State!!!!

If you share these concerns please join us at "The Winter Welcome Back Rally" !! Let's stand together and get this important piece of Legislation passed THIS Session!! There will be speakers, Official "Welcome Back" sweat shirts for those who wish to purchase them. Come Join Us and Bring your signs!! If you would like to travel by Bus the cost will be: Athens $20 and Shoals $25.(If the Shoals Area doesn't get enough people to fill a bus we will then meet the bus in Athens. Any differences in price will be refunded!) Also, we have a link set up where you can go and register. We have set the price for the Shoals buses (which is $25) but, if you chose to leave from Athens your $5 will be refunded when you board the bus, please make in the comment section who you plan to travel with. Feel free to contact us with any questions or if you are interested in petitions or chartering a bus for your area.. Here is the link

Julie,
Looking forward to this trip to Montgomery. The Shoals is lining up a bus for those who wish to ride. I don't know at this time how many are going, but this is a great idea.

Hey yes, Deborah the Shoals Patriots will have a bus. We aren't sure of the details yet but, we have a lot of SP members who want to attend this rally. And, we have collected a little more than 2,700 signatures in just our area alone! We are excited and we are also glad that this issue seems to be important all over the State! We will keep you posted on the buses for the Shoals area. Thanks!

Hey Deborah H,
Who are you working with in the Shoals Area?

Reply to This

Just joined the Shoals Patriots-will be doing some things with them and perhaps help the AThens Teapartiers as well. My mother and sister live there, and hope to get them involved. You are from Athens, aren't you? Where would interested parties in Athens get in touch with you there? Thanks.

Hello to all,
We had a great "Winter Welcome Back" planning meeting, this evening. We're calling ALL Volunteers for distributing Petitions around your communities. Carry Petitions to local country stores, markets, gun shops, restaurants, etc. Your assistance in getting thousands of signatures on our petitions will bring the voices of the people to our legislatures. Come on guys! If everyone just gets 50 or 100 signatures, think of the impact it will make.

What petitions are being distributed? I can get with Julie Jones on this. I probably have overlooked some info. Lots to absorb! Thanks so much to all of you who are organizing all this.

I hear everyone saying the Slaughter rule is unconstitutional, however I also heard that both side have used the law for their own gain. If this is true then the only case we have is one of size. I am not sure how to look for other deemed case and o…

Kudos to Idaho. Unfortunately, I doubt KY will do anything, as we have a staunch Dumbocrat governor.

If only we could do this to all of them. According to the constitution we do have the right to change our Government when it gets out of control. Problem is too many liberal Judges.
