My Fellow Countrymen,
I am greatly saddened to see what has happened to the gift that we gave you so many years ago. We sacrificed so much to provide you with the blessings of liberty. Many of my friends lost their homes, their fortunes and some of them even lost their lives paying the price for the liberty you take for granted.
We knew that our future generations would one day lose the liberty that we fought so hard to obtain if they did not heed our counsel and adhere strictly to the Constitution.
We knew that the Constitution would protect future generations only if they are will to defend it. The Americans apathy today is only exceeded by their ignorance. Only an enlightened and well informed people are capable choosing the most worthy candidates to be their representatives.
It is my humble prayer that a sufficient number of those of you who read my words will do everything in their power to reclaim the gift of liberty by taking the responsibility to study the founding documents upon which this great nation was founded,
To become a true scholar you will read the “Common Sense”, The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and Bill of Rights, “The Federalist Papers”, “Democracy in America”, “The Law” and “The 5,000 Year Leap”

One of the founding fathers said that all Democracies throughout history have failed because the majority voting directly for legislation would mean that the majority could oppress the minority. That's the reason that they preferred a Constitutional Republic with representation for ALL the people . Secondly, the Democrat Party and their followers want to do away with the electoral college and just have the majority delegates vote, which would mean that highly populated states like New York and California could impose their will on the less populated states. The founding fathers wisely choose the electoral college process because then small and rural population areas of our country would have representation in the electoral process. Those "Democrat Party" people just want to control the government, i.e. Communism! Those founding fathers sought counsel from Christ Jesus and received the inspiration to write our sacred documents: The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill Of Rights. Thank you Lord.

Many politicians come into the political arena with nominal incomes. They become millionares when they get into offiice. They come into contact with lobbyists, special interest groups and then they pass legislation that helps their business or their spouses business. Go back and read some of the information that is out there about Pelosi and Feinstein passing legislation to help their husbands' business in China. Tom Daschel's wife Linda is a lobbyist for the airline industry and this is while he was Speaker of the House. The Clinton's are a good example of "marginal" income people becoming politicians and now worth millions....Al Gore scamming money from people by doing the global warming scare. It is one thing to scare people and another to have a whole world marching in locke step to something that has been proven to not be caused by man, but a natural progression of the earth. Gore was well off to begin with because of his dad, Senator Albert Gore, giving him a base to start off with. However little Al has taken his politics, his agenda and all the connections he and his dad made in the political arena and he is now a multi millionaire. Politics pays! Don't forget that the money raised for a campaign, that is not spent, goes into the candidates pocket. It is a slush fund and I think that is what is going to happen to the unspent TARP money and the Simulus money. The Democrats are taking the payments back from the banks and are trying to parcial it out to other businesses. However I think if there are no takers, they will use the taxpayer billions to dump into Democratic campaigns instead of putting the money back into paying off the huge debts that they have racked up. Politics pays!

Ana, I agree. With all due respect, we want to make it HARD for government to do anything. The best government is the least government. That's what the founders set up. Not direct democracy or pollacracy. The danger is that the current regime has such a majority it can overcome some of the natural "stop" points in the institution. We conservatives NEVER had that. But we need to put the STOPs back on. I don't know how we do that except by changing the nature of one of our two parties and that means recapturing the GOP.

We ARE a Republic and that is why Congress is in place. I wouldn't want to undo it or our Constitution.

Marlene, I do think the reason we have representatives is because this is a representative Republic and not a Democracy. A direct Democracy would certainly have it's pitfalls. On second thought here, I think I would have to support the Republic as in my view "democracy" is mob rule, more or less.

My guess is that they were millionaires before they ran for office. Just running for election costs a fortune. Me personally, I think a system that makes a candidate pay more money to get elected than they can possibly make back while in office by its very nature invites corruption. After all, none of them look any poorer at the end of their terms, and they all WANT to be re-elected....hmmm
