Would you want Barack Obama to re-write the U.S. Constitution? Say NO to a Constitutional Convention

Imagine something? What if Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi had the opportunity to re-write the United States Constitution? What if the hordes of big-government liberals had the opportunity to write the Supreme Law of Land? What would this document include? I can guarantee that it will include provisions that make America look like Socialized Europe on a fast track to collectivism and statism.

If Conservatives join in the fight for a Constitutional Convention, we will be handing over the keys to the kingdom. Allowing the Leftist Liberals to rewrite our Constitution is like giving a masked-murderer the keys to your home and telling him where you and your children sleep.

As of now ResistNet.com and Grassfire.org are 100% against calling for a Constitutional Convention. Now is not the time for a convention. The time for a Constitutional Convention is when conservatives are in power.

Right now, conservatives should be focused on building the conservative base and electing conservatives to every office in local, state, and federal elections.

+++ A History Lesson

A Constitutional Convention has not been assembled since 1787. The delegates to this Convention included freedom-loving patriots who had just fought a hellish war for independence against the tyranny of the English crown. Our Founding Fathers drew upon their Judeo-Christian worldview and created a Supreme Law of the Land that upheld rights from our Creator, respected the rule of law, protected individual rights, and limited the power of government.

Just imagine what would be protected by a modern liberal Constitution…. the right to an abortion, the right for all illegal immigrants to freely enter into our nation and use our resources, the right to a house, the right to a cell phone, the right to the internet, the right to cable television, the right to cosmetic surgery. The Liberal Constitution would include an endless list of individual rights that come from the government to protect “the common good.” Basically, a new Constitution would create a “cradle to the grave” Nanny State.

To accompany these rights will be higher taxes, infinite government control, and less freedom for you and our children.

+++Our U.S. Constitutional Convention Null & Void

If a modern Constitutional Convention would be declared today, the current U.S. Constitution would be NULL and VOID—effectively allowing the liberals in power to rewrite the entire manuscript. Former U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger said it best, “ There is no effective way to limited or muzzle the actions of a Constitutional Convention. The Convention could make its own rules and set its own agenda.”

Do we want Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid rewriting our Constitution? I don’t think so. Calling for a Constitutional Convention at this time would be political suicide for Conservatives and suicide for the United States.

The worst event in this nations history could still be in our future if a constitutional convention is called with liberal/socialists in power. People think our nation can be cured by a ConCon now?! *snorts laughingly* Not in a blue moon, (( just a note those happen every 22 years by the way))!!!

Perhaps in another 22 years when conservatives are firmly in charge of government, until then we need to fight against this so-called ConCon tooth and nail.

You will see while reading the Constitution that the "CON-CON" is part of the Constitution as written. It's where the real "Power" is. Months ago, I started hearing and seeing this talk of how scary the con-con is and we should not shoot for that. This was coming from more of the folks that are in power now. It seems that we (9.12ers) have now falling for this fallacy.

No question, con-con is huge, dangerous and etc....but the fact of the matter is here in Virginia H.R. 61 is only a philosophical document. (NO POWER WHAT-SO-EVER BUT A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION) Only with the threat of...or the Con-Con itself will HR 61 have any teeth.

The law says if your here illegaly you should be deported. It shouldn't be that hard to prove, all you have to have is a correct social security number. If you don't , your deported. You don't give people in your country illegaly any free-bees, or amnesty. What is wrong with our so called leaders. Hoover deported all illegals in order to make jobs available for Americans after The Great Depression . Truman deported two million illegl's after WWll to create jobs for returning veterans. Eisenhower in 1954 deported 13 milliom Mexicans in a program called "Operation Wetback" so that American WWll & Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but got it done. If you could do it then, they can sure do it today. We need the jobs just as bad, but instead they want to give 20 or 30 million amnesty. It is time to clean house again.; ▶ Reply to This

Those who want to change her have obviously never really took the time to read, and learn how great this document is. HOW it has been the envy of many people who dream of a REPUBLIC, and dream of a document that would ensure freedom and prosperity for those who work hard. IF any one decides that we need to overhaul this PERFECTLY GOOD DOCUMENT, then WE THE PEOPLE need to take a lesson from the people in Iran who have had enough and have taken to the streets in PROTEST and REVOLTS.
