Without a CON-CON no permanent change can happen. The constitution doesn't need to be re-written, it needs to be strengthened.

Your right when you say "We have all the power we need in the constitution as written." You will see while reading the Constitution that the "CON-CON" is part of the Constitution as written. It's where the real "Power" is. Months ago, I started hearing and seeing this talk of how scary the con-con is and we should not shoot for that. This was coming from more of the folks that are in power now. It seems that we (9.12ers) have now falling for this fallacy.

No question, con-con is huge, dangerous and etc....but the fact of the matter is here in Virginia H.R. 61 is only a philosophical document. (NO POWER WHAT-SO-EVER BUT A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION) Only with the threat of...or the Con-Con itself will HR 61 have any teeth.

Look this Progressives are not playing around!!!!!! When our freedom, our Country is at risk, I say nothing is of the table.

Your right. Why is our country of laws, except the only law that don't count is the law, if your in our country illegaly don't count. The law says if your here illegaly you should be deported. It shouldn't be that hard to prove, all you have to have is a correct social security number. If you don't , your deported. You don't give people in your country illegaly any free-bees, or amnesty. What is wrong with our so called leaders. Hoover deported all illegals in order to make jobs available for Americans after The Great Depression . Truman deported two million illegl's after WWll to create jobs for returning veterans. Eisenhower in 1954 deported 13 milliom Mexicans in a program called "Operation Wetback" so that American WWll & Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but got it done. If you could do it then, they can sure do it today. We need the jobs just as bad, but instead they want to give 20 or 30 million amnesty. It is time to clean house again.

Nothing needs to change in the Constitution. It is ALMOST perfect. We do have laws in place. It's just the progressives have infiltrated the justice system as well. Our country is being ran by the enemy. So, the Constitution has meant nothing to these people, and if anyone is paying attention, it is clear this is the case. No one pays attention to it, or they twist the words around until they mean what they want them to. I personally would like to see both parties go. We need to get back to regular everyday people representing regular everday people. One way to do this is cut the damn paychecks down, and the perks as well, that Congress gets. What do you think our first Congress was paid? Everything in this country has gone loco. We need to get back to basics and the Constitution. It is most important for our future and our descendants. I love that document and yes, would protect it with my life!

This piece of paper that is so conveniently overlooked in schools, and absent from any classroom agenda, has served this country well for over 200 years. Those who want to change her have obviously never really took the time to read, and learn how great this document is. HOW it has been the envy of many people who dream of a REPUBLIC, and dream of a document that would ensure freedom and prosperity for those who work hard. IF any one decides that we need to overhaul this PERFECTLY GOOD DOCUMENT, then WE THE PEOPLE need to take a lesson from the people in Iran who have had enough and have taken to the streets in PROTEST and REVOLTS. ENOUGH CRAP FROM KNOW NOTHING BLEEDING HEARTS who have a secret agenda to destroy this country. I can bet my savings account if you research this futher you will find George Soros, the Head of the ACLU, NBC and a few other despots are truly behind this stupidity, these are the3major players HELL BENT ON DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY, and I an not talking out of my ###. Do the reasearch, and it will be there in black and white.

NO! WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER CONSTITUTION!! I agree with all of you, NO ON THE CONVENTION!! If anything, we need tofight to keep our Constitution as it is.

In the video above the picture that is showing, that is the signing of the U.S. Constitution. We all love that famous painting. George Washington standing tall presiding over the END OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION OF 1787!!!!!!!!!

The result of this Convention was the US Constitution!!!!!!!!

I agree, nothing is wrong with our Constitution as it is written. The problem is that most of our politicians are ignoring the Constitution and we have let them get away with it. Reading the Constitution to them gets you nowhere.

This is a classic case of not playing by the rules. The person that makes up their own rules always wins. The rule is the Constituion and as American citizens we follow the rules. The politicians do not, they make up their own rules whenever they need or desire more power over us. Who wins?

Who says that if 2/3rd of the States form a Constitutional Convention they would EVER elected Obama as the President of the Convention? Much less Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid having anything to do with the Convention.

I by all means do not know all there is to know about this subject, but I do know that the only Constitutional Convention(In any form) to ever take place in America produce our Constitution. Do not take it off the table just yet.

No No No No! The thing is, when a convention is call, all bets are off, the and the rules are thrown out, there can be nothing "pre-agreed" too and the entire Republic can be disolved. And the enemies opf our country, very specifically the UN, want nothing more than to see a con con ! They are ready will and able to swoop in and throw the whole document out.

The reason they can do that is because they cannot make the rules of a convention until the convention sits, not before.

This is evident when they sat for the convention for the Articles of Confederation. They said that they were just going to add on to it, or tweak it a little before the convention, and then once the convention sat, you guessed it, they threw the whole thing out!

So, no it is not something to consider, it is very dangerous. An amendment can be added with out a convention as well. There are much more prudent measures afforded us with the amendment process and 9th and 10 th Sovereignty.

Those men where genius patriots, the likes most politicians now a days are not fit to clean up after. Hnding over the constitution to those clowns would be very bad indeed, for they have shown that they currently have little to no respect for it.

I was working with Tom DeWeese at American Policy on this back in January when it was approaching crisis proportions. We managed to beat it back enough so that it is not an immediate threat, but we need to keep an eye on it. If we can get more resources on this, a dedicated group is needed to work on repeal in the rest of the states. Tom suggested that if we can get 10 more states to back off from a con con, then we should be ok.

99% of the issues we have can be resolved through the thankfully long and tortuous amendment process.
