This week there will be much shenanigans in Congress. They are preparing for break and are under a tremendous amount of pressure from the anointed one and his minions to push legislation that will lead to the depopulation of America. Everyone in Congress needs to be aware of the words of John Quincy Adams, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." Sadly our non-representing representatives will do what is best for them and need to be shown that voting for this is in their worst interest if they wish to retain the ability to fleece the American people.

"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men”, was the phrase Samuel Adams used to describe our responsibilities as Americans. The systematic destruction of America by the Marxist administration must be stopped. Silence by our citizenry is consent. Choosing to do nothing is just as treasonous as actively destroying America.

Patriotism is more than loving your country and waving the flag. James Bryce summed up our responsibilities, "Our country is not the only thing to which we owe our allegiance. It is also owed to justice and to humanity. Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong." Demand your Congress men and women be righteous and strong. Demand that they do the right thing. And, remind them that the public is watching, even the little things like calling developmentally disabled Americans “retarded” in the healthcare bill.

Edward Abbey says, "A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government." As this week slips through our hands and the time passes by, mentally prepare yourself to be a warrior. Next week congress takes a break, we do not. No matter the outcome of healthcare and Sotomayor votes this week, our fight must be taken to our Senators and Representatives offices during their break. They get to rest, you do not. Liberty is being stolen from us. Remember the words of Dick Cheney, "It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you." The government seeks to control every aspect of your life. We must maintain liberty, for it is all we are born with and all we can die with or for. Remember what Ben Franklin said, "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!"

Who amongst us will ever forget Ronald Reagan? Although we might never forget the man, we sometimes forget his words, "You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children (America), the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done." When this war is done, will you be able to tell your children and your children’s children that YOU did all that could be done?

This is why I resist...for my children and my children's children...

Thanks for another great post...Come on patriots, Abby's words are speaking to US, today, right now - "A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government."

Seek out any town hall meetings with reps. Attend them. Speak out. And bring a video camera. Tape what goes on and put in on the net for all to see. EXPOSURE> if the main stream media won't do it , we must and we can and will.

Good question. Here's part of my dilemna: My wife chides me for robbing her of my time... precious time we could be spending watching TV together, or taking leisurely drives to see the local scenery (for the 100th time!). My son also begrudges me time that I don't spend watching his latest video game exploits. And my mom would prefer that I call her more often "to chat" instead of informing myself on these issues of national political, economic and societal importance.
I am characterized as selfish and maybe even fanatical - for pursuing these issues of which we speak in this forum; for informing myself and attending meetings and participating in local activities. Should I just sit at home in front of the TV or take that drive or call mom, instead of these patriotic activities?
Now, before you stamp me with the Scrooge label for even bringing up these questions, please understand, I really don't mind doing these other things, and in their proper time they are all lovely things to do.

I am merely making the following points:
1. I am acknowledging that there is a price to be paid for being a freedom fighter, waging the war to defend our constitution and our freedoms. The price comes in many shapes and sizes... sometimes it is our own fatigue and frustration, sometimes it is the resistance we meet from the opposition, and sometimes it is the frustration (expressed or silent) from our loved ones when our activities steal precious time spent together with them.
2. My 2nd point is simply this: If we remind ourselves DAILY that we are waging war for our very lives and honor and the lives and freedom of our children, then we will simply have to bear that additional burden of them not understanding the sacrifice we willingly make for them - of our time and energy, including all that time that we really would prefer to spend with them, if only we didn't have this darned war to fight for them!!!

And, if we succeed, the very people we are taking time from will not thank us. They will only remember we were gone. Because they are alive and well, because they have their liberty, they will not feel the sting of failure. Ours is a selfless fight, and that is the way it should be, for this is not about us, but about our country.

It helps to hear this from other fellow-warriors. I was in the military ten years. My first wife did not understand nor appreciate the sacrifice that military life required, and so she divorced me. My current wife met me after I left the military. I was a civilian... but no longer. She does not understand, nor appreciate the price to be paid for liberty. She sadly thinks that putting our heads in the sand makes us safe from the danger. It is like the baby who covers his eyes and therefore thinks the mommie has disappeared, who does not yet understand that he has merely blocked her out from his view.
We are either soldiers on the side of Truth, or foot-soldiers on behalf of the BIG LIE (in the mold of ACORN, etc), or we are the collateral damage in this conflict. I sense that she has the same demands of me that my first wife had - demands that I can not comply with without at the same time betraying my conscience, my country, and - ironically - her, as well. It is a difficult quandry. And I am sure that there are many hundreds of us in a similar situation. It's good to share such burdens with fellow-warriors.

We do this for them. We keep our oaths, for them. And, we will die for them. Explain to her that part of her attraction to you was your honor and commitment. Those same traits are what are keeping you busy, so that your family can be free.

Balance.

There are plenty of us to take up slack for others who need time with family.
We stand for you, because we know you will stand for us.
If your loved ones dont understand what your doing thats ok and when and if anything ever happens where you do need to focus all of your efforts they will thank you for your preparation.
Remember that If it comes down to it, we are fighting to live our lives, not living our lives to fight.
