The Obama Economic Recovery Plan has a renewable energy and Electric Car component that is supposed to create 5 million "Green Jobs." With the amount of money that the new administration is talking about spending, that is possible, plus create opportunities for small businesses if the government requires that all the materials and components be American sourced.

At the present time, the leading solar energy companies are in Germany because the government has been paying for the research and development for several years now.

I wished I could remember where I read the other night on the internet, maybe Pajamas Media, World Net Daily, FeedBlitz, or somewhere, but the point I want to make is that the editor of this blog made the comment that the stimulus package to the individual or the family was just a pay back for the old slave days to the great/great great grandchildren of slavery. I could not believe what I was reading, but it all made common sense to me...

First off - let me say that I don't believe Global Warming is caused by man - it's a proven natural cycle of the earth.

Second - ALL of these Bail Out Stimulus Plans (whatever) are bull.

It is unfortunate that they continue to get passed - but they do, AND it's usually because some bit of something real is BURIED inside of it to get the radical right or the radical left to move...

The Energy piece of this plan is just such a tenderizer for this bill.

HOWEVER - having seen what happens when the waste from coal dumps out by accident virtually destroying a neighborhood and dumping toxic waste that ruins that land for decades (I live in TN and this just happened)...CLEAN RENEWABLE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY IS VITAL to FREEING OURSELVES from BIG OIL!!!!

We MUST MUST MUST become independent from foreign oil. Which means we MUST MUST MUST begin using ALL (not this one or that one) but ALL of the alternative energy resources that are out there. CNG, propane (which is taxed all to ***LL and back), wind, solar, geothermal - depending on what works in what area-we need them ALL.

One of the BIGGEST FIGHTS we have on our hands is getting BIG OIL back to size and allowing competition, production (that means manufacturing jobs folks) of alternative energy. SOMEBODY got Congress to put this measly bit of legislation in - we need to make sure our CONGRESSMAN use it to protect our resources and keep the production, manufacturing, investment, small business opportunities, etc. HERE AT HOME - I'm sick of seeing everything being sent to other countries.

So I DESPISE the administration and people that Obama has in place - (Barney Frank should be in JAIL!...not running anything). I fear for our country - I RESIST SOCIALISM - which to me translates literally into OPPRESSION. BUT - I support all efforts by Capitalists to create clean, renewable, alternative energy.

BIG OIL has monopolized the patents on alternative fuels, batteries, etc....LONG ENOUGH!!!

BURN THOSE LINES OF COMMUNICATION DOWN WITH DEMANDS to your Congressman to do this piece RIGHT!

Diesel efficiency has also been around for a long time and 235 MPG diesel cars are a reality, it’s not a Hybrid. Why don’t we have this on our roads now? It is the quagmire of regulations and speculation from the liberal EcoNazi socialists.

It is a fact that steps as simple as improving traffic flow will make a 15 to 20 percent improvement in MPG and emissions but liberal EcoNazis refuse to believe government is the problem. They think government is the solution by restricting individual liberties. Their whole argument is ridiculous drive a car with more MPG but don’t drive the cars with the best MPG because they pollute and cause global warming. Right now, even the best of these clean diesels do not meet the emissions standards in the five states that follow California clean-air regulations and these 'clean-air' regulations are keeping 80 + mpg cars off our roads. Furthermore these clean-air regulations are likely to be more stringent preventing technology to keep pace with the regulations, and these 'clean-air' regulations are likely to go national with this new administration.

Yes the VW 1L is an extreme commuter car only and if you want a more conventional family grocery getter VW’s Jetta Blue TDI @ 60 MPG and decent performance is almost here. That is better then the Toyota Prius hybrid @ 46 MPG. And yes they can use biodiesel.

We could have been driving these cars a long time ago but the socialist liberal tree hugging EcoNazis stopped it. EcoNazis have increased our dependence on terrorist big oil.

All Electric and Electric Hybrids, look at the basic physics of overall energy consumption. The overall energy consumption is power from the grid stored in a battery and/or from a fuel. The overall energy needed to get a car from point A to point B is determined by its coefficient of drag and weight. From one US gallon of fuel or about 7.3 lb (using above as an example) it is possible to get 235 miles. Is it possible to get 235 miles out of a 7.3 lb battery, no? How much more would a battery weigh thus consuming more energy to go 235 miles? Therein the weight of a battery is an issue, energy costs be it from the pump or from your electric bill. Battery power is not green because it uses more energy. We should be talking about conserving instead of spreading it around, heck “spreading it around” now where did hear that from.

Fact remains, we should not be forced to consume twice the amount or more of energy to pacify the global warming EcoNazis. Yes, some day the technology will be available but not now.

The government should not be involved with speculating what technology we must use. To do so shuts out competition in a free market and stifles progress. If someone comes up with a better technology there is little chance they could compete with another receiving government funding.

Socialist liberal tree hugging EcoNazis are evil and we need to expose them as such, we need to deregulate with a smaller government making some sensible laws that work, not stifle the individual liberties.

Richard- Thank you for the diesel information. The Pickens Plan is supposed to take compressed natural gas and use it to fuel the nations diesel truck fleets.

Yes, hauling around a thousand pound battery pack uses a lot of energy that could be used for powering the vehicle but that is the system General Motors has chosen to pursue in the hope that the Chevy VOLT can save the company.

But General Motors next problem won't be happening on Michigan Avenue:

The green agenda is simply this, dismantle the USA in return for an elitist world government where no one has any property rights.

From the Report at Iron Mountain (1966) these clowns figured that the pollution/model would replace war as a way to seize control, for it would be so easy to fool the public

I produced a webseries at http://www.mannycaneffort.com to help expose the greens operating under a shroud of decency.

The bottom line is that they use all fronts, climate change, wildlife endangerment, EPA, BLM lawsuits and on and on.

There is an off the record estimate that 30-50% of what we currently pay for energy goes to the producers to comply with or litigate environementalists lawsuits.

The climate change hoax is being used across the country in state and county levels to assault the citizenry and force fascist regulations, taxes upon them, seize property rights, diminish freedoms and cost all of us more money while it chokes an already teetering economy.

We need to find funding and an army of attorneys to fight them back. My idea, start suing every environmentalist group that has obstructed energy growth, every politician backing the greens sued personally for causing a decrease in our income, increase in our expenses and the theft of our future, and start taking a few of these operations down.

They base their claims on a lie, they intimidate the press and politicians in a mafia style manner, and to top it off, there are only a few of the mountains of environmentalists claim that could even be close truth, and those would have to do with dumping chemicals into waterways etc.

The green agenda is simply one arm of the socialist liberal movement, it is as dangerous to our freedom as any terrorist group and is a huge part of the stick it to us bill.

When its all said and done, the "new energy" policies will cripple the economy, can't deliver even a significant portion of our energy needs. Coal produces 54% of our nations electricity, Obama wants to shut it down. It takes 10,000 windmills turning 24 hours a day to produce the output of 1 coal plant. At an acre a piece, do the math there's 600 coal powered plants in the US. Natural gas and Nuclear power plants aren't being allowed.

To top it off, when the at the carbon credit scam, this opens the doors for the carbon credit allowances tied to your national ID, once you've used it up, you're done.

The green players are indeed enemies of the free people, seeking to destroy our great country, we can't let that happen.

check out the links from my site http://www.mannycan.com you'll find that your thinking might change, big oil really isn't big oil, coal technology has come along in lightyears from where it was, we can be independent of middle eastern and Chavez oil with simply getting access to the reserves we already know about. We have Oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear to fuel our economy, wind and solar can supplement say neighborhoods but at its peak couldn't produce more than 10-15% of our needs if every acre of real estate was used.

President Barack Obama’s plan to create five million green jobs over the next 10 years. The argument is as follows: The European Union and California are at the forefront of creating green jobs, but each continues to see budget and job crises. And the European Union isn’t any closer to meeting its Kyoto target. Looking at these two places, why should we expect that Obama’s green jobs plan should be any more successful, especially in this time of recession?

obama's gren plan, and rhetoric has nothing to do with the ecology at all. Watch now as all the eco-warriors go under the bus tires.

obama's plan will go into UN coffers to be squandered on whatever nonsense can be imagined by UN scoundrels. Much of the money wil go into off-shore bank accounts of UN officials and their families and friends ( look into the financial status of Kofi anon, and Butros Butros Gali ).

The left is pushing on every front at once and I think an argument can be made that it is a strategy borne of desperation. If we lose this particular fight, I'm afraid it will be because of conservatives who have a green streak of their own. Perhaps it's time to adopt Bill Clinton's strategy and co-opt the green movement by detailing a conservative agenda for protecting the environment. The fact is, the most successful environmental strategies ever are those used by American outdoor sports enthusiasts. It's not a far reach to apply nationally what hunters have done in the states.
