Here's a treasonous piece of legislation for ya!
Please read this. Then compose a little e-mail. Copy and paste it simply. I went to each Senator that serves (serves who) on Committee on Environment and Public Works and each name listed below has the link to the contact page. There is also a phone number, courtesy of Ron Paul's easy website. And finally, contact our lovely representatives and let them know that if this bill comes to the floor they had better vote against it or you will work your darndest to have them voted out as soon as you can!
S 787, the Clean Water Restoration Act.:
If approved, S 787 would amend the Clean Water Act by extending the authority of the Army Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency, the two federal agencies charged with enforcing the Act.
The CWA (Clean Water Act) regulates point source pollution discharges into "waters of the United States." The United States Supreme Court has interpreted the phrase "waters of the United States" to exclude isolated waters, such as ponds, intermittent streams, and wetlands which do not have a "significant nexus" to a navigable waterway. These bodies of water are not regulated by the CWA.
S 787 would change the CWA to significantly broaden the scope of the bill.
The new definition states, “The term ‘waters of the United States’ means all waters subject to the ebb and flow of the tide, the territorial seas, and all interstate and intrastate waters and their tributaries, including lakes, rivers, streams (including intermittent streams), mudflats, sandflats, wetlands, sloughs, prairie potholes, wet meadows, playa lakes, natural ponds, and all impoundments of the foregoing, to the fullest extent that these waters, or activities affecting these waters, are subject to the legislative power of Congress under the Constitution.”
Call the Committee on Environment and Public Works at 202-224-6176.

Just thinking:
If this passes how does something as simple as stocking your pond with some fish effected?
And of course my question is ,"WHY?!" Why do they need to pass laws like this? What actual need is there for that kind of control to be had by the Fed??
Please join me in doing something about this. Write our Power-God worshiping arrogant rulers, call their offices and copy this to your friends and networks. Now.
Cheers!
-Cynthia
PS: Here is a response that I received form a friend of mine:
""They need to pass laws like this so they can tax your water!...and for even more control of your life; you can only get so much water...
If you live in a rural area, or just outside of city limits, chances are you have a well and are not being charged for water use and the government has no control as to how much water you use.
Now, if the FEDs own the water they can and will tax your well water use as well as add more taxes to city water for the use of what is now FEDERAL water.
This may not pass now, but the liberals just won't let go once they have an idea.
We need to nip this in the bud!"
