What I can't understand is HOW COME THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY ARE LETTING THEIR LEGISLATORS vote on ANY Healthcare Bill version........ WE SHOULD BE PRESSURING THESE CONGRESS CRITTERS TO VOTE AGAINST ANY FORM OF HEALTHCARE BILL FROM GOVERNMENT=CARE. WE DON'T WANT GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE..... PERIOD. THERE SHOULD BE NO CONCESSIONS..... PERIOD.

I agree with you. There is a lot pressure being exerted... They are not listening. They all must be removed. We do keep the pressure. The bad part is that if they get in at all they will inch their way in slowly. I'm so angry at this you have no idea.

Because they vote the way THEY want to vote, not how the people want them to vote. This is what is wrong with the system.

WE NEED TO DUMP THE INCUMBENTS...BUT THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO VOTE FOR A PERSON YOU MAY NOT LIKE...ARE YOU WILLING TO DO THAT TO SEND THESE CREEPS THE MESSAGE????

Become a precinct committeeman or committeewoman.... let's begin at the very grassroots of the political movement and selct candidates that will really protect our Constitution. That's the only way... faxes, email, phone calls are being ignored. Or, demonstrate in the streets, at the capitol buildings, legislators local offices..... bring out the pots and pans brigades!!!

I hate this healthcare bill too, but this post leaves me with a question for you.

Do you think they should eliminate Medicare? it's government run, and my grandma gets pretty good care. Definitely better than I do through those crooks at Aetna, but that's a WHOLE other story....

As for me, I don't know the solution to this problem. I don't think it's the government, but health insurance sucks these days. They won't pay for anything, but they keep pulling more out of my paycheck anyway. They're like the 2nd round of taxes I have to pay! I have a friend who works in a pharmacy that doesn't take insurance at all, and their prices are so low that sometimes it's cheaper for me to go there than to pay my co-pay at the regular pharmacy. I know a doctor who doesn't take insurance either, and his prices are lower too. Maybe we should just all pay out of pocket for our healthcare. It seems like all the insurance companies and the government do is drive up prices.

One of the ideas is to abandon this Bill ...... "KILL THE BILL". The other is to defeat the democrat version of the Bill and start from zero.... then, just overhaul the present program by eliminating Medicare waste, streamlining the Medicare procedures, allow insurance companies to sell across the states, and put caps on insurance claims...... also, implement TORT REFORM.

If they were smart they would do that but nooooo the stupid Democrats won't.

Jon Stossel has an excellent post on fox about a system that works well in Singapore. Understand something. Insurance doesnt work for 2 reasons.
1. Moral Hazzard (your own money is not being spent, only about 13% is out of your pocket)
2. Insurance companies are governmentally regulated monopolies.

Show me an industry where that works? Power companies? Nope, your rates would be much lower if they werent quasi public and there was real competition. The solution to the healthcare mess invoves tort reform, transparency, free choice and open markets. For example, why should all doctors charge the same for a procedure when some doctors are better than others? The real question is "Why do people need medicare?" As a concrete example, one reason an MRI is so expensive is that the government sets the reimbursement rate. They did this to "speed" the adoption of the technology in rural areas. Sound familiar? Invent a problem and have government solve it? Well, it worked out beautifully for GE.

As to why people like Ben Nelson are ignoring us, three reasons
1. Charm (lots of meetings with leadership and the whitehouse)
2. Blackmail (vote yes or we release this illegal fundraising ethics report)
3. Bribery (vote yes and we will give you 1 billion in Pork, as well as a seat on the board of Pepsi when you retire)

Faxes and Phonecalls derive their power from numbers. One fax doesnt matter. One Hundred faxes do. We are trying to coerce a behavior using a carrot and a stick. The carrot is "Vote No and we re-elect you" the stick is "Vote Yes and we kick you out". Right now there are 2 things going on. Ben Nelson is more afraid of the DNC and the whitehouse than he is of you. That relationship will change in November if we maintain the anger we feel now. If Ben Nelson goes to Afghanistan and saves a battalion of Marines, thusly winning the medal of honor? I will pat him on the back, cheer for his accomplishment, and throw his ass out of the senate. McCain has been pretty forceful lately eh? I havent forgotten the gang of 14. And so, I will thank him for his opposition to health care, and supporti his opponent in the primary. Same with Lindsay Graham.

If we bring down the incumbency rate, you will find that our Carrot and Stick are much more effective. One of the most effective things we can do is have a long memory. Hell, Im still angry at McCain about the Keating 5!

We will challenge this law in court, and I actually believe it will be overturned. We have precedent on our side, and with the current supreme court, that means almost everything. While we are waiting to pull the lever in November, we can be preparing for it. We need to aggressively grow our movement by teaching people about these bills. Sometime around February I will be faxing Ben Nelson and telling him that Im still angry. Political pressure will be much more effective next year than it was this year because of the coming election.

This means that we have a better chance of defeating immigration, gun control, cap and trade, etc than we did with healthcare. We will take their seats in November, and then we will dismantle the socialized medicine. Its a long term fight, and no matter how many battles we lose, we will get stronger day after day, month after month, year after year. Im angry too, but channel it into action. Dont give up. For every bad bill they pass, Im going to find one more person to add to resist net. If we all do that? Think of the turnout in November, not to mention the power of economic boycotts on liberal bastions like Disney ;)
