For Those Who Haven't Sworn Their Oath To Protect The US Constitution - Here Is Your Chance!

I, J. Irving, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.''

My name is Paul Connors and I took the oath above when I entered the U.S. Army and later, the USAF. I've honored that oath for more than 30 years and take it very seriously to this day.

Many Americans think that we in the armed forces are obligated to defend the country. Yes, but that's only partly true because the USA would not exist without a Constitution. I believe that my first duty is to defend that "sacred" document and by doing so, I will, by extension be defending the nation.

I'm retired now and therefore can speak out. And I say here and now that Barack Obama is a Socialist and perhaps a Marxist. I've had friends form the military, some of them retired senior officers state that they believe (as weird as this sounds) that Obama's plans are reminscent of National Socialism (i.e. Nazism).

I took that oath on February 15, 1968 when I received my commission in the Air Force. I served in Vietnam at the same time as my father (Army) and my next younger brother (Navy). I served in Desert Storm and adopted two children after I retired at age 48. For my wife, children and the Republic, I will continue to uphold and defend the Constitution until I draw my last breath, so help me God.

And thank you "Bootstrap" for the following:

There is no greater challenge, no greater honor and no greater sacrifice than the perils of defending our constitution in the dark days ahead. May God bless all those who do their part, big and small, as we move forward and take back America, restoring it to its rightful place of faith and glory. We have a morale obligation to stand for the values our founders stood for, bled for and died for. I will do all I can and encourage others to join the fight, for I am an AmeriCAN!
