Every liberal person in Washington should read this! This was an email only not a True story. But makes a great point!

It's a shame that Washington doesn't understand this.

To All My Valued Employees:

There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn't pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country.
However, let me tell you some little tidbits of facts which might help you decide what is in your best interests.
First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against the employees, you have to understand that for every business owner

there is a back story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You've seen my big home at last year's Christmas party. I'm sure all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.

However, what you don't see is the back story.

I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for three (3) years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you.

My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles, because virtually every dollar I made went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn't have time to date.

Oftentimes, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying. In fact, I was married to my business --
hard work, discipline, and sacrifice.

Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom's for the latest hot
fashion item, I was trolling through the Good Will store extracting any clothing item that didn't look like it was birthed in the 70's. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a
business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly Had.

So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9 AM, mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5 PM, I don't. There is no
"off" button for me. When you leave the office, you are done, and you have a weekend all to yourself. I, unfortunately, do not have that freedom. I eat and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to my hip like a one-year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden -- the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations... You never realize the back story and the sacrifices I've made.

Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the
people who didn't. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for.

Yes, business ownership has its benefits, but the price I've paid
is steep and not without wounds.

Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me
tell you why:

I am being taxed to death, and the government thinks I don't pay enough. I have State taxes, Federal taxes, Property taxes, Sales and Use taxes, Payroll taxes, Workers Compensation taxes, Unemployment taxes, and taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing

him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting
that goes with it now occupy most of my time. On October 15, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You
know what my "stimulus" check was? Zero. Nada. Zilch.

The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs and serves over 2,200,000 people per year with a flourishing business? Or, the
single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check? Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country.
The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck, you'd quit and you wouldn't work here. I mean, why should you? That's nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree which is why your job is in jeopardy.

Here is what many of you don't understand ... to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy. Had suddenly government mandated to me that I didn't need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and
generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better
salaries. But you can forget it now.

When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don't defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back
to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it.
Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the poor of
America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change you can keep.

So where am I going with all this?

It's quite simple.

If any new taxes are levied on me or my company, my reaction will
be swift and simple. I fire you. I fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child's future. Frankly, it isn't my problem anymore.

Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire. You see, I'm done. I'm done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work

and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship.
If you lose your job, it won't be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steam-rolled the constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me sitting on
some foreign beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about.

Happy New Year
Your boss

PJ thank you as a business owner myself I have built my company from my garage to what it is today and employ 30 people. Unfortunetly our government wants to penalize us for working hard and striving for excellence. You are correct in that no one saw us living in a dumpy apartment and living on basically nothing all they see is us as wealthy. I pay 85% of my employees health care, and am taxed to death also. If the government wants to stimulate the economy, then cut corporate taxes and let us the small business owner do what we do best, create jobs, and run lean and mean companies.

Well, that's a nice sentiment to everyone who has helped you build your said company. Even though it was YOUR company, it took every employee to work it.
I understand, I myself WAS a business owner, no more. But I would never give up my citizenship, just because there are professional thiefs in our government.
I would never give up something so precious, that other countries do not have, freedom.
Go to some foreign beach sit there while your country falls apart. Then when that countries government starts taxing you, again asking for your money, do not feel the need to come back to America.
We just might not take you, back.

I agree about the citizenship, I have been out of the country and even with all our problems there isn't another country like ours. On the other hand I do believe the other parts of this letter is correct, small business owners are abused by our government and if people would understand who employs them, they might resist. Of course those that aren't employed wouldn't understand.

You've got that right. I have nothing but admiration for you hard working business owners. I am married to a very hard worker. He has chosen to work for a company. They just had black Tuesday and laid off many workers for the very reasons stated here. I work very hard at home raising the next generation of Conservatives. Keep fighting the good fight.

This says it all! Sometimes the simplest explanations or the most obvious carry the most weight. I feel no one should be able to argue with this letter, but of course, Obama Mania followers would find ways to shoot holes into this letter. I'm copying this and sending to all my friends.

I agree with everything you have said. I own just 4 rental properties and was making enough money a few years ago to fix them up and keep them in very good condition. Now I am being taxed to the point it is almost impossible to have a reasonable rent that people can afford. Insurance rates have gone up on each rental also adding to this. I work a full-time job and work on these rentals whenever somebody leaves or whatever needs to be done while they are there. This leaves me very little time. I am unable to sell them since I would lose any money paid on these homes and it is hard to rent them. Nobody has a job, they don't make enough money, or if they do happen to get in, they don't feel they need to pay rent and have to be evicted. I have not had a profitable year for 4 years and 2008 is the same - a loss.

This stimulus package is going to either the rich companies so they can buy other companies, to the executives of these companies in the form of extra packages. This will show the company is lowering the pay rate for executives, yet they will be giving them other forms of the company's stimulus packages for these executives.

It is very doubtful the small company will survive should this continue. Any big company will buy up the smaller ones or these will go out of business. Or the government will own them.

The people who have worked hard to get what they have, will be penalized and the people who want something for nothing will finally get it from the government.

I completely understand the point of this story. I don't own my own business, but my aunt is a co-owner of one. And I worked for her for a year and a half. I saw her stay up til midnight or later, and work thru weekends trying make her business grow, while the goverment taxes her to the death. The only time they can give promotions or raises is when someone quits or has to be fired. It sucks.

Great post! Thanks for sharing! Does give a different take on understanding the real problem! Simply put...it is the government! Soon we will be a Country that produces nothing and all on unemployment and then who will be left to pay the taxes and government salaries? Maybe that is why they are taking ownership in all of our industries....so that someone will be left (the government) to put us to work....to keep their paychecks coming in for doing nothing!! They are selling out America!

If you were to actually do this, you will not want to publish the name of the country you are going to or you will have a lot of people following you.

California, the Golden State, is perhaps the worst of all. Businesses are leaving daily for other states where the government's attitude toward enterpreneurship is less hostile. The tax structure is ridiculous; there are taxes upon taxes upon taxes.
There is a maxim authored by one of the great WDGs, that states: "No nation ever taxed itself into prosperity." Our leaders in Washington and the state capitals should take a note of that.
Also, I seem to recall that we've had a revolution around 1774 that resulted in independence and a bloody war lasting until 1783; I think it was about taxation. Or am I mistaken?

why not stay and fight. This used to be the best county in the world. If enough people banded together, they could turn things around, so that our Constitution would matter like it used to. I thought of leaving too.
But where would I go? China, Mexico, Canada, there really is no escape, unless you could get to the moon.
I hear what you are saying, but don't give up without a fight.

There really is no where to go. Sure, you can retire and go rot on a beach somewhere but in the end this is all we have. Give in to socialism or fight it. We can have a revolution if we want it badly enough.

This and the letter from the CEO walking around the parking lot looking at the Obama stickers this is the stuff that makes liberals eyes roll back in thier heads and thier brain expodes.Sending them into a grand mall fit of how dare you thats just not right and the goverment should put you out of buisness before you close your doors. Its the gift that keeps giving and it may not be real its a joke that causes pain and has a pay off.
